  We did a Taipei day trip tour booked through TripAdvisor, with Bubbles as our guide. Bubbles was polite, but functionally he acted more as a driver than a tour guide. He provided very little context or information about the places we visited—we honestly learned more from brochures than from him. His command of English was weak, which made communication difficult throughout the day. When we asked for recommendations (e.g., dinner), he told us to look at Google reviews rather than offering any local insight. Our biggest concern, however, was safety and inattentiveness around drop-offs and pick-ups. In Jiufen Old Street, he parked very far from the entrance and had us walk along a narrow, winding road in the rain and darkness, with no sidewalk. This felt genuinely unsafe. There was no reason he couldn’t have dropped us closer to the entrance first and then parked. To make matters worse, he later changed parking lots without clearly telling us, which caused confusion and unnecessary stress. Overall, communication and planning were poor. Given the lack of guiding, weak communication, and absence of added value, this tour was completely overpriced. We were very disappointed.

• The best tour in Taiwan

  Our guide Chouly / Julie was the best. She made the entire day so much fun by recommending us things to shop at the market in Jiufen, to recommending the best restaurant with a view for lunch. She is so passionate about her job and it shows. She loved to talk and clicked amazing pictures for us throughout the day, even if we dint ask for it. She is such a great driver too. It was a bit rainy and she ensured all 4 of us had umbrellas. From writing our wishes on a lantern in Shifen, to the beautiful waterfalls... The highlight was definitely the Yehliu Geopark. Absolutely stunning! Would definitely recommend this tour!

• Superior Experience in Taiwan

  Paul was amazing! Can't say enough good things about my experience with him as my guide! I can't remember having a better experience in all the adventures I've had around the world thanks to him. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and excited to make this one of the best experiences I've ever had. The music and laughter on the way to the attractions made me realize I was in for an amazing time. He also made sure to provide me food options for my very strict diet that were extremely flavorful--to make sure I did not miss out on that aspect of the tour. The pictures he takes are also amazing. In addition to knowing where all the best locations for the best pictures were at all the destinations, he also understands the principles of taking good pictures. I'm very picky in many respects and Paul is one of the few guides I've had who has not only met but exceeded my expectations. I look forward to returning to Taiwan and doing more trips with Paul!

  Honestly one of the best tour experiences I've ever had, with an even more amazing tour guide, Mr Hicks. It started out with visiting the Geopark in Yehliu, where we were told the history about each of the geodes and not rushed at any point. Hicks also accounted for my mother who was not able to walk much and was very helpful and patient with us. The Admission fee for the park was already covered in the fees, and we didn't have to do anything. We then visited Shifen waterfall which we were guided around to the best spots, and we then realized what a great photographer he was. He took amazing photos of my family and also individual photos of us. Throughout the trip he always told us the history of the country, as well as the places we were visiting. Even in the markets he did not rush us, and he was very humble about the timing as we finished one hour earlier, he added an extra stop at the Cat Village.   I am so glad I booked this tour for my family. My family and I had a wonderful. Our tour guide, Vincent Lee, is so helpful, patience and knowledgeable. He showed us where to take nice pictures . The pictures he took for us came out so nicely. This is something we can never do. Would strongly recommend this tour to friends and relatives.

  Our tour guide, Vincent, is very professional and knowledgeable, and talked about history and other interesting topics in our tour. He also helped us to take some great photos. Fantastic trip from Taipei.
