Museo Nacional de Antropologia

Through the eyes of "A Young Archaeologist," you will discover Mesoamerica and its cultures and regions. My objective is to show you that pre-Hispanic history in this country goes beyond just the Maya and Aztecs. I will take you to the main exhibition halls to explore the masterpieces of each culture. We will discuss their history, religion, politics, economy, architecture, and traditions. Together, we will understand their possible meanings. By the end, you will have knowledge of the great variety of cultures in the past and their processes over time. Additionally, you will see why this museum is the favorite space of this archaeologist. Passion, fun, and professionalism are guaranteed.

  • Best tour EVER!!

Pakal (David) might have been the best tour guide we have EVER had. He was clearly passionate and welcoming and made us feel like we could ask any question we had. He gave us so much context into what we were looking at that it completely changed our understanding and our experience at the museum. He has been to some of these sites himself as an archeologist, which contributes to the passion he has for the subject. I would not recommend visiting the Anthropology Museum without a guide as there is little English at the museum. Any time we are in Mexico again, we will be reaching out to Pakal!

We had an outstanding experience touring the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City with David. His depth of knowledge as an archaeologist truly brought the exhibits to life, going far beyond what you’d get from simply walking through the museum on your own. He has a remarkable ability to connect history, culture, and storytelling in a way that is both engaging and easy to understand. David was generous with his time and insights, answering all our questions with patience and enthusiasm. You can tell he is genuinely passionate about his field, and that passion made the entire experience memorable and enriching. Thanks to him, we left with a much deeper appreciation of Mexico’s rich heritage. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get the most out of their visit!

I highly recommend a private tour with David, aka Pakalito. He is a very knowledgeable and expert guide, and a professional archaeologist. We did the three hour tour of the Museum of archeology with him this week and enjoyed it immensely. The length of the tour and pace were good, he listened to our interests and experience and adapted his tour accordingly. We learned a lot and his explanations were clear and engaging. Also his English is fluent which helped us a lot. We felt the tour prepared us well for better understanding and appreciating the sites at Teotihuacán and the Zocalo as well Mexican history generally. He is also fun and entertaining. We visited four main galleries with him and after the tour ended and he left us we had some lunch in the cafe garden and then went back to look again at some of the exhibits. Altogether we spent about 5 hours at this stunning museum and it was a highlight of our time in Mexico City. Don’t hesitate, book Pakalito!

  • So worth a guide at this amazing museum!

Fantastic guide. My group was caught in horrible traffic and we were running late - our guide was in contact with us throughout and came to get us at entry way when we arrived. Our group was pleasantly small. I have been to the museum before, but not with a guide. She took up to exhibits I had not seen - she was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and engaging. My daughter is studying anthropology, so she was thrilled and the guide was able to answer all of her questions!

We loved our tours with Pakalito - we did both this museum tour as well as a guided visit to Teotihuacán. Pakalito is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and engaging as a guide - he had fascinating, in-depth answers for any questions we had and made this enormous museum both more approachable and more interesting that we would have found it on our own. I was initially hesitant about booking a tour for a museum as we usually enjoy them plenty at our own pace but was very happy we did the tour in this case. One of the best tour experiences we have ever done - highly recommended!
