Immerse yourself in an active volcano filled with mineral mud with therapeutic and rejuvenating properties, while enjoying the guidance of our certified local guides. This experience combines wellness, nature, and tradition, ideal for travelers seeking something authentic, different, and memorable. This service is provided by local people who make their living from it and costs $4 USD. After the mud bath, a friendly local will rinse off the mud, leaving you refreshed, glowing, and completely renewed. This service has an additional cost of $4 USD, and a relaxing 30-minute massage costs $10 USD. Remember that this is a private experience; transportation is exclusive to you and your friends (or family). A local gastronomic tasting with empanadas, accompanied by water or soda, is included.

5.00We had a great time experiencing the Lodo Volcano Mud Bath in just outside Cartagena! It is such a unique experience! We weren't sure if we would like it, but decided to try it because it was so out of the ordinary and I'm glad we did! Gilberto, our driver was so nice, and very informative on the hour plus drive there and back about different sites, and things taking place in and around Cartagena, and took really good care of us the entire time! Once we arrived at the mud volcano, he introduced us to the staff that would be taking care of us. They were instrumental in helping us in and out of the mud bath, making sure we were safe ascending and defending the volcano, and helping to wash the mud off of us down in the lagoon/lake. We even chose the option to have a massage inside the mud bath, and that was awesome! The guys did such a great job! Then after we were cleaned up and had changed clothes, we had a snack with tasty homemade beef and chicken empanadas and soft drink! It was a top notch experience from start to finish and I highly recommend you try this unique experience!

5.00The whole experience from pickup to drop off was amazing. Gabriella was our tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable on the area and was super detailed on the schedule to ensure our group knew what to expect to get the maximum from the experience. The photographer she arranged took hundreds of photos and videos to make the trip memorable. The massage in the mud pool was so relaxing. The food we had at the site was sooo good. I’d highly recommend to go as early as possible when it’s still cooler and quieter. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and the driver even stopped for us on the way back to take some photos at the Cartagena sign. Can’t say thank you enough!

5.00Gina and Carlos provided us with a wonderful experience. They informed us of what to expect each step of the way, including appropriate tipping for the Mud Volcano staff. Gina told us about the local geography and history during the ride to the site and the ride back to the ship.

5.00The guide was friendly, driver reliable. Amazing experience - arrived on time, lots of explanation of what’s going to happen, mud volcano was super unique. Lengthy massage in the pit (optional for those not wanting it), then you get rinsed in a local pond and are treated to fresh empanadas and soda by a local cook. Went with my teenage daughter who also enjoyed. 10/10!

5.00Carlos was the driver of our van. He was terrific and provided a smooth ride while avoiding a few hazards. Gina was the tour guide and gave a detailed description of Colombia. She also knew Cartagena in excellent detail while giving the history, local sights, and a taste of the culture. The mud volcano was a unique experience of dipping yourself into a muddy volcano. Very fun and interesting without any fear or apprehension.
