Hello, I’m Hugo, and I’d love to share my passion for the Vinho Verde region with you. Terras de Basto is a hidden gem, rich in history and tradition, with roots that trace back to prehistoric settlements. Its people have long been known for their strong character, resilience, and deep connection to the land.
This region is the perfect place to understand the origins of Vinho Verde wine. Although it has gained international recognition over the last few decades, Vinho Verde reflects centuries of local knowledge, craftsmanship, and inspiration.
Having grown up exploring this territory, I’ve built close relationships with local, family-run producers over the years. This private experience is designed as a memorable journey from Porto to Terras de Basto — a largely untouched, beautifully natural region that remains off the beaten path.
Along the way, we’ll stop for a coffee break in the historic town of Amarante, known for its authentic atmosphere and charming riverside setting. We’ll then visit two family-owned wine estates with traditional cellars, where guests are welcomed like friends. Here, you’ll taste grape varieties found only in this region, such as Azal and Padeiro, and discover that Vinho Verde can even be red, like the distinctive Vinhão.
A true surprise for many visitors.
After the first wine tasting, enjoy a delicious traditional lunch in a carefully preserved rural setting. The meal is prepared with local ingredients and paired with unfiltered, homemade Vinho Verde — a truly unique and authentic experience.
Throughout the day, the tastings and visits are complemented by stunning views of Monte Farinha and Senhora da Graça rising above the landscape. After an engaging and relaxing day immersed in local culture and flavors, we’ll make a smooth return journey to Porto.
Of all the experiences I offer, this is the one I most enjoy sharing. Guests consistently describe it as a genuine surprise and one of the highlights of their time in Portugal. Are you ready to discover it?

This was by far the most memorable and intimate private wine tour we've ever done. No amount of words can perfectly describe the incredible experience Hugo offered on the tour. From being picked up promptly on time, friendly and informative conversations about Vino Vherde, and two of the most amazing wineries where good food and company were plentiful. This isn't your typical big winery tour. Both places we went to, we had the entire experience to ourselves. This allowed us to really enjoy the time and experience, talking and tasting directly with the winemakers. A gorgeous afternoon lunch off the beaten path and amongst other Portuguese people was also a beautiful highlight. If you can only choose time for one activity in Portugal, booking a trip with Hugo is absolutely the only right option. We can't wait to come back and do another tour! Thank you so very much Hugo!

A week ago today I enjoyed a fantastic experience with a professional guide. We passed by a pastry shop in Amarante to discover their specialties. Then we went to Quinta da Raza for some wine tasting accompanied by a visit. Stop for lunch at a typical restaurant and finish at the 2nd test at Quinta Chouza. I advise!

An unforgettable experience on the Vinho Verde Route! The privacy of the wine tasting on two farms, combined with a stunning view over Senhora da Graça hill, made this day truly special. The wine tasting was accompanied by detailed and passionate explanations, which enriched our knowledge about the region's distinct green wines. Lunch, consisting of traditional dishes, was a true feast for the senses, highlighting the local gastronomic richness. I highly recommend it for lovers of wine and good food who want to immerse themselves in the culture and magnificent landscapes of northern Portugal. A special thank you to Let's Kombi for organizing a fantastic and unique day!

Excellent experience on the green wine route! Breakfast in a historic pastry shop in Amarante followed by a tasting at Quinta da Raza. Tasting excellent wines and the professionalism of the guide! Lunch in a fabulous restaurant where wild boar and cod were companions. To finish off a tasting at the more intimate Quinta da Chouza with delicious nectars! The family loved it! Repeating! Green route with "mature" professionals!

Fantastic experience, unique views and a very unique wine experience, a good opportunity to acquire some knowledge of the origin and manufacture of Vinho Verde, without missing tastings and visits to the vineyards. A very fun and enriching day, which I recommend without hesitation.

Having previously booked a tour in Porto city with Let’s Kombi, really appreciated the personalized friendly treatment and the purposeful cultural experience provided, this time we wanted to have a go at Vinho Verde route in the northern area and enjoy a full day out. Mr. Fonseca, our guide and driver, didn’t save any efforts in this one-to-one experience and high level of region and product knowledge, pointing us beautiful details of the natural wild landscape, mild hilly areas covered with green vineyards, small towns and typical villages from the North, allowing coffee, photography or sightseeing stops at a customized rhythm. At lunchtime, a delicious full meal in a local almost hidden restaurant with very traditional varied gastronomy followed by a visit to a Vinho Verde wine producer’s farm with wine tasting … What more could we wish? It was an exclusive niche experience, no doubt! Return to the hotel at the end of the day, delighted with the spent moments off the beaten track, promising we will definitely recommend it to our friends and those who ‘d rather go away in such private tour conditions.
