Spectacular experience with my family camping on Telica Volcano with epic sunrise and sunset views and breakfast with a local family at their farm. The volcano boarding was my favorite activity and the reason I visited Nicaragua and it was amazing! Alex was a wonderful guide and even helped us spot birds and iguanas. Leo was our camping guide and was wonderful with my twin 10 year old boys. They really enjoyed talking to him. 100% recommend and I will be back to go again with friends in the future!

We did a sunset volcano sledding with Axel as our guide and he was amazing. The best 5$ you will spend is to help carry your board to the top. The hike was beautiful and Axel is so knowledgeable. Coming down was a bit scarier for me than I thought but Axel helped me down lol, tad embarrassing but he was amazing in helping me. The views took my breath away. Highly recommend if ur not scared to heights

I was recently on a one-night camping trip with colleagues from my organization. As part of a team-bonding experience we decided to climb the Telica Vulcano. It was a truly beautiful and memorable experience. Alex, our guide had prepared everything for our camping trip. We just collected our backpacks got in a car to take us to the start of the trail. During our hike, Alex, who is super knowledgeable o the flora and fauna showed us the local animals like birds and snakes. The hike was easy going and soon we were witnessing the vulcano crater smoking away. We went to see the sunset and came down to the camp where Alex prepared a camp fire for us and our tents. Food cooked by the near by local community arrived soon after. The food, all irganic was excellent and felt very nourishing after the climb. I slept really comfortably in the tent. The next morning we woke up at 5am, just before sunrise. We packed our stuff and after an 8 minute hike, we were on the top of the mountain enjoying the sunrise with a warm cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast. We took some great pictures and slowly climbed back down to Leon. I highly recommend this trip and Alex and his company. He is very knowledgeable of the area and has great stories to share. Make sure to try the termites, that taste like carrot.

Our organization hired Leontrakkers for a team activity to climb the Telica Vulcan and everything exceeded our expectations from the begging. They’ve provided us with backpacks, tents, mattresses and sleeping bags and all we needed. Alex is extremely experienced, thoughtful and responsible. The food on the top was prepared by a family that lives nearby the top of the volcano, and it was just delicious. The experience was much better than I’ve anticipated, the sunset and sunrise were breathtaking, the volcano itself … everything! Thank you Alex! I’ll definitely return!

Amazing experience hiking two active volcanoes in a day! We highly recommend doing the Cerro Negro (7am trip) and Telica for the sunset tour - either same day or spread out. We were lucky to have Cerro Negro all to ourselves with Alex (so just 4 of us!), which made feeling the heat of the volcano on our feet and hands even more special! Also volcano boarding at the end was such a novel experience, and we felt in safe hands with Alex. Telica was completely different and so cool to see right down a huge crater as smoke was coming up. Alex was very friendly and knowledgable and took great photos throughout. He also made a conscious effort to support local communities with board hire and a family meal at the end of Telica which we appreciated. Thanks again for the best day of our Nicaragua trip!

We did the sunset tour to the volcano Telica and the volcano boarding at Cerro Negro with Alex. He is an excellent guide, answers questions quickly and has extremely fair prices for his tours. 😊 He already mentions exciting inputs about life in this area, about animals, plants, the volcanoes, etc. - you can feel his love for nature and the mountains. 😊 Alex is uncomplicated, open to conversation and speaks very good English. We are impressed with how he runs this company passionately in his younger years, involving locals wherever possible. For example, after the Telica sunset tour, there is a delicious dinner at a local family's place, or he has the boards of volcano boarding right here in the countryside ready for the next tour. Alex regularly asks about everyone's well-being and breaks during the hike. During the tour he took many photos and videos and shared them with us afterwards - such a nice memory. 😊 We can wholeheartedly recommend this company. ❤️ Alex, keep it up. 😊💪🏽 We thank you very much for these great experiences and wish you all the best for the future. 🥰 Kevin&Nadine

Amazing experience!! Alex and Eduardo have been two great guys teaching us not only the Vulcano history but also Nicaragua colture. We did Cerro Negro and Telica on the same day (sleeping on a tent in Telica) and it’s much worth it to do it togheter.

We went with Edi and it was such an amazing experience. He was so lovely and had so much information about the volcano and everything else, you could tell he truly loves doing the tour. The hike up was awesome, but obviously boarding down was even better - finished off with an amazing sunset. Was the perfect way to end our epic trip in Central America!

Alex was the best! He was prompt to pick us up and offered up a lot of information about the area. The hike up was tough but Alex didn’t rush us. I got pretty scared to go down the volcano but his calm demeanor and rational talk got me through. It was an amazing experience with a top notch guide. Highly recommend Alex from Leontrekkers.
