Private Walk & Ferry: Copenhagen Highlights + Change of Guards Finale
Experience Copenhagen’s top sights by foot and ferry on a private tour with your local host.
This Go Like a Local tour combines highlights, hidden gems, and a 25-minute ferry ride, ending with the iconic Changing of the Guards at the royal palace.
All sights are seen from outside.
We start with a guided walk through Copenhagen’s scenic streets before boarding the electric harbor ferry. Your host shares stories, history, and insider tips while you enjoy the city from the water.
After the ferry, we continue on foot, visiting the star-shaped 17th-century fortress and the Little Mermaid. A cozy café stop offers time to rest and chat before finishing at Amalienborg Palace.
The 9:00 AM tour includes the full Changing of the Guards at 12:00.
Other times include a smaller version.
If the ferry is full or out of service (rare, mostly weekends), we follow a scenic canal route instead — same experience, just 2 extra km.

Excellent tour, very informative with a nice combination between walking and being on the water. We learned a lot about many landmarks, buildings, history, etc without it being an information overload. Thanks a lot! I highly recommend booking this tour!

We loved our private tour with Michael! He had lots of great information and was very entertaining. Dress warmly if you’re going in winter; it was cold by the water. We debated between the two and three hour tour and opted for the longer one. I didn’t think it dragged or felt too long. Overall, would recommend for families or friend groups visiting Copenhagen!

Michael was a consummate tour guide (along with his co-worker Alan I believe his name was… if you get him, ask him about his fishing license). They were both excellent in taking us around sights and sharing historical facts. What made this stand out was how it was presented. Personal, funny, and truly like a local. Things definitely not found in typical history or guide books. Thank you so much, guys! A highlight of our trip.
