Private Walk & Ferry: Copenhagen Highlights + Change of Guards Finale
Experience Copenhagen’s top sights by foot and ferry on a private tour with your local host.
This Go Like a Local tour combines highlights, hidden gems, and a 25-minute ferry ride, ending with the iconic Changing of the Guards at the royal palace.
All sights are seen from outside.
We start with a guided walk through Copenhagen’s scenic streets before boarding the electric harbor ferry. Your host shares stories, history, and insider tips while you enjoy the city from the water.
After the ferry, we continue on foot, visiting the star-shaped 17th-century fortress and the Little Mermaid. A cozy café stop offers time to rest and chat before finishing at Amalienborg Palace.
The 9:00 AM tour includes the full Changing of the Guards at 12:00.
Other times include a smaller version.
If the ferry is full or out of service (rare, mostly weekends), we follow a scenic canal route instead — same experience, just 2 extra km.

Excellent introduction to Copenhagen. Great stories and an approachable history lesson for those of us with limited knowledge of this part of the world. Ferry ride added a chance to hear more stories and view the city from a different perspective.

A great tour. Saw the major sites of the city and Michael is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the walking and the water taxi ride. We also saw the changing of the guard which was fascinating.

Our family of four, including our young children (ages 6 and 2), had an absolutely wonderful experience on our private 3-hour tour of Copenhagen with Michael. The intimacy of a private tour was fantastic, allowing us to go at our own pace and easily accommodate the needs of our toddlers. Michael was an exceptional guide – super friendly and knowledgeable, yet incredibly patient and engaging with the whole family, kids included. He effortlessly navigated the city, pointing out key landmarks and sharing fascinating stories that captivated both the adults and the little ones. The tour never felt rushed, and Michael was flexible, allowing for spontaneous stops for photos or a quick break when the children needed it. We highly recommend Michael to any family visiting Copenhagen; his professionalism and warm personality made our sightseeing experience memorable and stress-free.

Walking past famous places, with a nice and knowledgeable guide, was a nice way to experience Copenhagen. Some problems with the Danish language for us Swedes.
