Nestled six miles southeast of The Wave and Coyote Buttes, White Pocket stands as a "Mars-like" spectacle spread across a compact one square mile. A treasure trove within the immense Vermilion Cliffs National Monument of far Northern Arizona, White Pocket is a marvel of geological wonder.
Unlike its surrounding counterparts, which boast vibrant red hues, White Pocket is noted for its unmistakable light gray and white palette. Swirling patterns dance across thin layered strata, a feature that makes this location a visual feast for the eyes. The sandy plains here are dotted with modest vegetation, offering a stark yet harmonious contrast to the area’s unique erosive rock formations.

What To Expect
On this private tour, you will embark with your very own guide from our office in Kanab and take a 2 hour drive each way (about 1 hour on the highway & 1 hour off-road) and in between we will hike and sightsee the White Pocket area for 3-4 hours. Your expert guide will be with you every step of the way as you hike through and around the White Pocket formation showing you the best photograph spots and sharing information about the local geography and wildlife.
What‘s Included
You do need to bring your own lunch/dinner, and we have a cooler in each vehicle for you to put it in, but we do have snacks (granola bars etc.) for guests on each tour.
We encourage all hikers to bring their own water for hiking, especially with the extreme temperatures, but we do have extra water if needed.

5.00Incredible experience. Raymond was an exceptional guide for area and knowing it geological makeup as well as ecological makeup. Sighting scope at the condor area was THE tool to sight them on the ledge. So knowledgeable that he led tour to minimize climbs and drops to accommodate arthritic joints. Got all the iconic photos w/o problems. Coral Cliff tours is the only group to consider! Thank you!

5.00Our host highly recommended the White Pocket tour, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience! It’s a 2–3 hour drive from Kanab, with nearly half the journey off-road, which made the adventure even more exciting. White Pocket is an incredibly unique and surreal landscape, offering endless opportunities for breathtaking photography. Our guide, Kyle, was fantastic—extremely friendly, highly knowledgeable about the area and its geology, and always eager to help. On the way back, we even stopped for stargazing and were lucky enough to see the Milky Way, which was absolutely magical. Overall, this trip exceeded all our expectations and was truly an amazing experience we’ll never forget!

5.00I had a great experience with Raymond as my tour guide for a tour of White Pocket. He pointed out the best spots for photos and explained the geology and history of the area. He set up some great photos as well and I came back with a lot of extraordinary pictures. Coral Cliffs is reasonably priced and the tour was personalized so that I didn't feel I was doing anything beyond my physical capacity. We also saw some unique aspects off the beaten track.

5.00My wife and I went on 9-12 hour private tour of Great Chamber and White Pocket with tour guide Aaron. It was a time and money well spent. The roads to both of these attractions are pretty rough and sandy and you risk getting stuck or at least a lot of wear and tear on your suspension. I was happy to hire Coral Cliffs to not have to worry about taking a wrong turn or having a breakdown. Aaron was a great guide with knowledge on how to get to these places, how they were formed, and photography. Aaron asked multiple times while we were hiking at White Pocket how we were doing and whether we wanted to hike more challenging spots or not. We would definitely take other tours with this company.

5.00We visited White Pocket with Coral Cliffs Tours. An extraordinary and ethereal experience. Our guide, Aaron, was relaxed, expert and affable. He added greatly to the experience. Julie of Coral Cliffs was wonderfully accommodating as we kept rescheduling due to rain. White Pocket is a must. Amazing scenery and views all the way to Bryce Canyon. Not at all difficult. The cows ranging over the area just added to its surreal quality.

She went above and beyond to accommodate our schedules and made our White Pocket, Great Chamber, and Peekaboo Slot Canyon tours truly special. Kenny was our guide for White Pocket, and Jeff guided us through the Great Chamber and Peekaboo Slot Canyon. Both of them were absolutely wonderful—passionate about what they do, professional, and extremely knowledgeable.
