Delight in an exclusive behind the scenes barrel room tasting with carefully matched Yarra Valley produce at the renowned Dominique Portet vineyard. The Portet family has been making wine for 10 generations. Now, affable Frenchman Dominique Portet - a household name in Victorian wine circles - and son Ben, are continuing the tradition at this charming winery in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Enjoy lunch at one of the regions picturesque vineyard restaurants, either TarraWarra Estate or Oakridge Estate followed by more time exploring the region meeting local characters and sampling wine from boutique wineries such as Yarra Yering, Coldstream Hills and Yering Farm. Avoiding the crowds of the larger wineries – the tour will be tailored to suit your tastes. While in the area, you may also choose to visit the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary. Regarded as one of Australia’s leading wildlife reserves, the Healesville Sanctuary has over 200 species of Australian birds and animals in pristine ‘Aussie’ bush land. 5.00The company was well organised to provide us with a wonderful tour to the wineries. Our guide selected wineries that he thought would suit us - all just perfect with a relaxing lunch stop. Nice safe driving made for an enjoyable day.

5.00Melbourne Private Tours did an amazing job helping me to coordinate our private tour while also giving us freedom to choose where we wanted to go on the day. Ashleigh did a wonderful job providing information and Neil was a superb guide! He was involved and genuinely seemed to enjoy showing us the region and telling us about his favourite wines. I will definitely book again and highly recommend to anyone who wants more than just a typical tour of the Valley (or anywhere around Melbourne).

5.00From the very first enquiry I was made to feel special, every question answered, every assurance given. The tour itself was absolutely brilliant, Jayne is so knowledgeable, friendly, professional, happy to make slight adjustments to suit my preferences for the day. Melbourne Private Tours are not cheap, but I still got so much more than I paid for! worth every cent! I highly recommend MPT, and will definitely be back for more the next time I want to feel like the most important person on the planet.

5.00After purchasing a ring for my fiance, I decided to shop around to many tour providers in The Yarra Valley. I sent out enquiries to at least 6 different providers, and most got back to me with very mediocre responses to my suggestion to propose to my partner on the tour. Ashleigh from MPT however, was by far the more excited, proactive and helpful than anything I could have asked for. Apart from the tour being flexible to my changing arrival times, she also kept me updated more than twice a week leading up to the big day. Peter, our tour guide also used his acting skills to help to calm my nerves, create enjoyable conversation and also to help maximise the surprise of the proposal. I couldn't have asked for a better private tour company, thank you to the team, we hope to use you for a tour after we have officially tied the knot, and highly recommend you to everyone we know!

5.00We had the best day - a private winery tour in the Yarra Valley. Picked up at home by a knowledgeable driver/ tour guide Geoff, taken to 2 boutique fabulous wineries and then lunch at Tarrawarra winery where we also chose to spend time in the gallery. Would absolutely recommend this tour, which has flexibility to do what interests you, ie gin tasting in Healesville, Chocolate factory in Coldstream.

5.00We had an amazing day touring through Healesville Sanctuary and enjoyed tastings at two wonderful Yarra Valley Wineries. Our tour guide, Katie, was organized, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She made the entire day fun and educational... explaining the wonders of the Aussie animals and the history of the aboriginal people (she even had Australian songs to play during the car ride). She shared in our excitement during our "wade with the platypus" and kangaroo encounters and captured amazing photos and videos for us! Everything was pre-arranged and set-up for us before we arrived at each location, making it relaxing and easy! We hope to return to Australia again some day and will certainly work with Katie.
