The Puffing Billy Railway and Phillip Penguin Island day tour is a very popular tour combination in Victoria, Australia. First, visitors can experience the Puffing Billy Railway, a historic steam train that offers a fascinating journey through the Dandenong Ranges. Train travel not only provides a unique nostalgic experience, but also allows you to enjoy the natural beauty and historical sites along the way. Next, visitors will head to Phillip Island, famous for its Penguin Parade. Every evening, the little blue penguins return from the sea to their nests on the island.
This is the most spectacular moment of the day. Visitors can watch these little penguins staggering back to the shore on the observation deck of Phillip Island Nature Park. This is a warm and magical scene.

We will depart from the city around 9 a.m. to head to the Puffing Billy steam train. The train journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Puffing Billy Railway
Travellers will embark on the Puffing Billy steam train journey (one way) for 60mins, and have a 30mins break before train departure.

5.00Our driver and leader Michael very professional and friendly, the day encountered steam small train bad without opening, he was also very helpful to help us take the day's journey, added a couple points, very careful explanation, very friendly attitude, although meeting the small train not opened, everyone very disappointed, but because of Michael's attitude, we are still in disappointment, have a very happy time.

At every stop on the itinerary, he carefully explained all the important details and precautions, ensuring that everyone knew what to expect and how to stay safe. He also shared insightful information about the local culture, answered every question thoroughly, and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. The vehicle was new, clean, and comfortable, adding to the overall comfort of the trip. (The day before, I called David to confirm the pick-up location, and he promptly returned my call, which gave me great peace of mind.) 5.00We had an amazing time on this tour! Our guide, David Chen, was super friendly and really knew his stuff, making the whole trip to Puffing Billy and Philip Island so enjoyable. The steam train ride was such a fun experience, and seeing the penguins at Philip Island was absolutely unforgettable. Everything was really well-organized, and David went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had the best spots to enjoy the views. I’d totally recommend this tour—definitely a 5-star experience!

5.00A 10/10 wonderful tour! We had a great experience on everything listed on the itinerary and as scheduled. Bob is the best - he is very experienced and easygoing, always had a smile on his face throughout the trip, and went extra miles just to ensure we had the greatest possible experience. My parents have walking problems due to old age and Bob had been very considerate to accomodate their needs. I can’t recommend him enough. 5.00I want to thank and appreciate Mr. David Chen (bus driver/tour guide) for accomodating us during this trip. Even though we don’t speak mandarin he put in a great effort to communicate with us in English. This experience was really great for us especially my family coming from overseas to discover Australia/Melbourne/Philip Island. Once again. Thank you to Mr. David Chen and his company.

1.00Overall tour was good, the train was exciting and the penguins were cute. Important point is that the tour guide only said Chienese for whole day even I chose English. The guide cannot say English well, so he made other customers to translate what he said - which was not correct though - and only informed me when to come back. I cannot understand any explanation that day and was disappointed. I lost the group few times since I wasn't informed properly about the plan. After the tour, I requested the partial refund for language issue but the tour guide answered that he used English, but due to my lack of English proficiency, I didn't understand what he's saying. WHAT? It's an insult to the customer, feeling very bad. Contacting several times via phone call(cuz I can speak English fluently), I finally got partial refund. Anyway, I recommend not to choose this tour if you cannot speak Chinese. I don't know why there's option for choosing English.

5.00The Puffing Billy Trip was beautiful and the views were exhilarating ! The drive through Emerald and sights around the Lake were breathtaking and so refreshing ! So also the stop at Maru National Wildlife Park, the drive to the Nobbies & walk around, and the Penguin Parade - all showed us a side of Melbourne that we would never have imagined. An action- packed day out on the whole, well worth the cost of the Tour !! Our Tour Guide - Michael, was very informative, knowledgeable, entertaining and patient - making the trip twice as more enjoyable and memorable !!
