Gibbston Valley Winery
The first stop of the day is at the iconic Gibbston Valley Winery. Gibbston Valley is one of the region's founding wineries and it's here that we will join a guided tour through New Zealand's largest underground wine cave and enjoy tastings of some of their world-famous wines.
Kinross is our second stop and a fantastic location to try a range of different wines across multiple labels. Along with producing their own wines, their cellar door host will also showcase wines from smaller producers and share their incredible stories of how they came to be. After your wine tasting, we allow extra time to enjoy lunch. Kinross has a range of delicious dishes on its menu, including pizzas, platters, smaller bites, and mains. This is ordered and paid directly on the day, giving you the flexibility to order what you would like based on your taste and budget.

Ana was a fantastic tour guide from start to finish. She was knowledgeable about every winery we visited, which made the experience so much more enriching — it was clear she knew her stuff and genuinely cared about giving us a great experience. Our group was a real mix of nationalities — New Zealand, UK, Brazil, and the US — and Ana’s warm, easygoing personality made everyone feel comfortable and included from the get-go. By the end of the day, we were all getting along like old friends, which says a lot about the kind of atmosphere she creates. She kept us on schedule across all four wineries without it ever feeling rushed, and her playlist was the perfect touch — great vibes the whole way through. She was also just really easy to talk to, which made the whole day feel relaxed and fun rather than like a formal tour. If you’re looking for a wine tour guide who is attentive, personable, and knows how to bring a group together, Ana is your person. Highly recommend!

Well-organized from start to finish. Our guide, Ana, was exceptional; her deep knowledge was only matched by her genuine love for the region and the art of winemaking. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an insightful and seamless experience! .

We did this tour as one of our Freedom If Choice tours with APT. It was a great day with an excellent host/driver/guide called Marry, (spelling !) She was very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous and she interacted very well us on the tour. She is a credit to the company and obviously lives her job.

Wonderful wine tasting experience. Our tour guide Nicole was super friendly with lots of fun and factual information. Our tour was changed last minute as one of the wineries was not available due to a function however the substitute winery was absolutely beautiful. All 4 wineries were individual and special. Pizza lunch at the Gibbston Valley Winery was delicious. The road trip was very scenic and made fun by Nicole who also obliged our group by, at the end of the tour, dropping us at a destination that we were interested in seeing.

I went in alone, but Marie, my guide, was fun and very skillful, guiding all the members and creating a very good atmosphere. Each place I visited was unique and an unforgettable experience. Thank you. I'd like to come back during the winter season when I can ski and use the altitude tour. thanks Marie
