What To Expect

Meet your local guide at the foot of Mont Saint Michel in front of the main entrance. The meeting time depends on the tide therefore it will be communicated to you by message when confirming the activity. The service lasts approximately 1 hour on a 2 kilometer loop route around Mont Saint Michel. The tour will begin with an explanation of the phenomenon and then the guide will give a demonstration. Participants will then be asked to sink up to their knees and learn the technique to get out. People who don't want to sink in can observe the experience and take photos of their friends or children in the sand. Then at the end of the activity the guide will take you to the edge of a river to wash your legs. The tour ends as it began at the foot of Mont Saint Michel.

At least 10 visits to the mountain in my life, and the only one that's so complete. Seeing the mountain from all angles, walking (as on the water) in the middle of the bay, experiencing the quicksand with Stéphane (who has as much fun as we do), we are not about to forget it!

A bit scary but truly extraordinary and wonderful experience. Tip: I recommend wearing swimwear when you go into the quicksand, as you will get very dirty. Thanks to Stephane for making this possible!

We were caught in a rainstorm while out on the sands but you get wet and sandy anyway so it didn’t matter. Our guide was interesting and friendly. There was a lot of walking and it felt like a workout but it was really fun. Bring waterproofs!

The heavens opened while we were out on the sands so we weee wet through but you get wet and sandy anyway so it didn’t matter. Our guide was informative and friendly and the experience was brilliant. Definitely worth doing. There is a lot of walking and it feels like a workout but so fun! Bring waterproofs!
