We will take the train to Spikkestad station and continue along the Old Drammen Line Rail Trail to Lier. On our way we pass through two tunnels (the longest is lit) and two railway stations. You will get a great view of the Drammen fjord while moving downhill towards Lier. The trip is six kilometres long, but can be extended to Old Lier Station (10 km) free of charge upon request.

What To Expect
Spikkestad
We will pass the old station building at Spikkestad. This building was recently used as a bar/restaurant. The rail trail starts here.
Gullaug
We will arrive Gullaug halt after we have passed through two railway tunnels (the longest is lit). Here we will sit down on the platform and stretch our legs. You will have a great view of the Drammen fjord from this abandoned railway stop, and you will also find an information board on the platform with old photos.

5.00It was a very well organized, well documented activity, combining knowledge and field experience. Hiking in an enchanting setting and inspiring views of the fjord and Oslo. Erden is very familiar with the history of these abandoned railways and has a lot to tell. Always very interesting. The 6km hike, with a round trip train ride to and from Oslo framing it is a unique experience. Not to be missed. Chantal, Canada.
