This tour gives you the exciting experience of climbing a mountain over 16,000ft, where you will be able to see colorful landscapes, majestic glaciers, amazing and vibrant green valleys with herds of alpaca, and the impressive Ausangate mountain range. Also, you will experience first-hand how locals live in the mountains and even see them hard at work.

What To Expect
Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca
Our adventure begins very early at 4:30 am with our guide who will pick us up from the hotel and then transport us about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Cusco to Cusipata where a delicious breakfast awaits us. After breakfast we will be transported for about 1 hour to the base camp of the Colored Mountain called Phulawasipata (4600 masl). At this place our guide will give us some recommendations before starting the hike. After 2 hours of hiking, we will be arriving at the majestic Rainbow Mountain (5000 masl), where we will take a break of about 15 minutes while our guide gives us an explanation of the place and then have free time for about 30 minutes to take pictures and enjoy the place. After visiting Rainbow Mountain, we will descend for 1 hour and 30 minutes until we reach the parking lot where our transportation will be waiting for us to return to Cusipata where a delicious lunch awaits us. After lunch, we will return to Cusco for 2 hours arriving around 16:00 hours.

5.00This is a really wonderful tour. The scenic views of the Rainbow mountain trail are great, colorful mountains on one side, white glaciers on the other side. Before the tour, my wife and I were kind of concerned about whether our septuagenarian age could take the challenge of hiking at such high altitude, but we made it to the 5036 meter top with the help of horse ride on the front part of the trail, which saved our energy to take on the last 100 meter height, but steep hiking. Our guide, Joel, was excellent in taking care of us and helping take great pictures, the office manager, Daniela, very responsive before the trip, the hotel pick-up on time. Everything was arranged as advertised. We enjoyed it very much. It’s highly recommended.

5.00We did a tour only for two, visiting the Palcoyo Mountains, the Inca Bridge and a picnic. The agency was fantastic, even adapted to our needs. Our guide, Kat, was incredibly friendly, cheerful and helpful. Our driver, Marco, was also excellent. Everything was wonderful!

5.00Beautiful views, especially the red valley. It was a bit quieter due to the rainy season (but it mostly rains in the afternoon so we still had decent weather). The driver was very safe and successfully got us all up the winding roads. The guide shared a lot of good information and was good at keeping track of a group of various paces and abilities.

5.00Excellent walks! I closed a package that included the Sacred Valley, quad-cycle tour of Maras and Moray, Colorful Mountain and Laguna Humantay! All were extremely punctual with skilled guides and willing to help. I stayed in a place where it was not so accessible for the van to pick me up, asked to open an exception on the tours of the Colorful Mountains and Laguna Humantay that depart in the early morning, and were super requested and the guide Rafael picked me up in front of my ape and then we went to the place of the van!
