Imagine rappelling down waterfalls in a private rainforest valley on the famed Road to Hana. What's rappelling? It's a popular adventure/gravity sport that includes a descent from a cliff or wall using anchored ropes. Under supervision and instruction from expert guides, you’ll use professional equipment to descend into nature in the Maui location featured in the movie Jurassic Park. Great for active families, couples, groups and solo travelers with an appreciation for dynamic outdoor excursions. Minimum age of 10; minimum weight of 70 lbs., maximum weight of 250 lbs., and waist measurement between 22 and 48 inches. All gear (including shoes) provided. RAIN or SHINE: We go to the rainforest. Waterfalls are naturally occurring phenomena changing rapidly at any time. When the streams flood due to rain and the falls are roaring or swollen, and we cannot safely rappel one or both waterfalls, we rappel 40- to 115-foot drops from jungle cliffsides at a safe distance from the water course.

You'll cruise down the jungle cliffs and waterfalls of a private rainforest canyon using an anchored rope system, hike through streams and on natural trails, and swim in natural freshwater pools. RAIN or SHINE: We go to the rainforest. Weather and waterfalls are naturally occurring phenomena; both can change rapidly at any time. When the streams flood due to rain, the falls are roaring or swollen, and the valley is alive with high or swift water activity. If we cannot safely rappel one or both waterfalls on such days, we do 40- to 115-foot drops from jungle cliffsides at a safe distance from the water course. Please note that it rains at least a part of every day in the rainforest.

Awesome experience and we highly recommend Maui repelling. Alba and Deacon were our tour guides and they are both top notch and professionals at guiding you through the experience. My wife who is non-athletic was able to complete the repelling tour and had fun doing in it. Expect an adrenaline rush, getting wet, and great times with family, friends or business partners.

This was a great experience for our group of 5. Dad & Uncle in their 50’s and 2 teenagers 14yrs old. The equipment and setup was nice and easy. Constant instruction along the way. Felt very safe. We did 3 rappels. 1st one was short and not straight down. The second one was partially in a fast flowing waterfall and the 3rd one was shorter and a slower moving water flow. Water was a little chilly, but refreshing. The guides were very helpful and demonstrated everything you needed to do. Great experience! Takes a bit of courage, but anyone can do it!

Shauna and Deacon were both fun and funny. They had a great sense of welcome and encouragement for something that had the potential to be a little scary. Deacon was a great nature guide too. They both made our adventure fun and fabulous. It's was a beautiful scenic area and I also felt they did a good job to keep us safe. Thanks to both! I would recommend it and also go a again if I came back.

This activity is on the Road to Hana so it's a great stop if you are driving the Road and are not on a schedule, or if you do this as a stand-alone activity. We stayed overnight in Hana and had booked for the drive back. While it had been dry in Maui, there was still enough water flowing to make this a lot of fun. You don't need to know anything about rappelling; Alba and Decon were great guides and provided detailed instruction, keeping safety at the forefront. We did 3 rappels: the first a "practice" (no water), then the next 2 in the waterfalls, ultimately dropping into the pools below. The water wasn't too cold and felt really good on a hot day. If you have a sense of adventure and are looking for something a little different, this is a must-do.

Fantastic excursion! Had so much fun. Alba and Elena were the best guides - They made sure we were well educated and felt very safe prior to rappelling, but also got the most out of our experience. (Plus, the pictures were awesome.) If you’re looking for something adventurous to do while you’re here, I’d highly recommend Rappel Maui.

Thrilling and physically demanding. Amazing crew, good equipment and great instructions. They know how to calm the nerves. Much more thrilling than a zip line experience. Loved learning how to Rappel
