My full-day tour around the center of the island was designed for people who would like to feel the “Island daily life” and see the REAL Madeira while immersing in the local culture.
I promise one day full of Fun, with Off Road paths that enchant for its unique beauty.
You will have the opportunity to walk in a small section of one of the FAMOUS LEVADAS of Madeira Island, although not touristy and have the chance to try some of our local delicacies - Coffee, Poncha, Madeira Wine & Rum at a Local Bar and Lunch in a family-owned restaurant,

I can go pick you up at the port, on any cruise line when you want, in my UMM (open classic ex-army Portuguese jeep - it has a cover also for all weather conditions), at a time appropriate to your schedule.

What To Expect
Porto do Funchal
Your private tour begins at the Port (On any cruise line), in my UMM (open classic ex-army Portuguese jeep - it has a cover also for all weather conditions), at a time appropriate to your schedule. Get ready to be amazed by panoramic views and explore the heart of nature, while learning all about Madeira's traditions and history. You will have the opportunity of riding in a very relaxed safari-style tour, going to places that you just have to see! We`ll take you off the beaten track, whenever possible, through old roads & off-road, in really remote places, hidden valleys and villages lost in the mountains, so you can see the wild beauty of the island, all done in a very calm safe and relaxed way. Along our route we will stop at all the good photo opportunities, on an exciting open jeep ride, enjoying various experiences, awakening all your senses. At the end of the tour you will want to return and stay longer on my paradise :)
We will pass through the narrow and charismatic streets of Funchal. Along the way, we will pass very close to the Barreiros stadium, a local club where we can enjoy a magnificent landscape of the center of Funchal. Stopping in all the good photo opportunities, in a thrilling open top jeep ride, standing up when possible, learning about our island fauna, flora and social life!

5.00Unfortunately we weren’t able to do the Wild West Tour due to the weather. We appreciated very much that Miguel explained us the weather situation and suggested to change to the different tour. And we learned a lot about Madeira and its people and how they live. We had a lot of fun with Miguel driving through the countryside. The lunch place was delicious, so was the poncha break. And the landscape was beautiful. We will definitely do another tour when we come back. Anyways, we still need to do the original one🙃

5.00Having spent a week in Funchal one of the highlights of our trip was an open top jeep tour hosted by Miquel. He picked us up at our apartment and headed for the hills of Madeira. We had the experience to walk some of the levados, noting all the amazing fruits growing along the hillsides, taken to a bar where we witnessed the making of the local drink ‘Poncha’, which was delicious, ate at a great restaurant serving typical food of Madeira whilst looking over an amazing valley. Miguel was a great host in that he took us off the main tourist routes to experience a very authentic Madeira whilst keeping us up to speed with our surroundings and it’s history. We had an amazing day and would highly recommend Miguel as a tour guide and hopefully will return again and visit another part of Madeira. Thanks Miguel for sharing your time and knowledge with us

5.00Best way to see, to feel, to taste and to smell real Madeira - with Miguel. We with Miguel traveled around the island 2 days (we booked 2 tours), it definitely didn`t disappoint, we visited places we hadn`t read about in any tourist guides or seen on YouTube. Although we saw a lot, walked along the levadas, where we passed two lost and unable to find way tourists and one rabbit (we didn't meet anyone else), there was no rush. And our daughter (she's 7 years old) the most liked riding the jeep standing up :) Pats geriausias būdas pamatyti, pajausti, paragauti ir net pauostyti tikrąją Madeirą - kartu su Migeliu. Mes su Migeliu kartu važinėjome po salą dvi dienas (užsisakėme 2 turus), tikrai nenuvylė, aplankėme tokias vietas apie kurias neskaitėme jokiuose turistiniuose giduose arba nematėme youtub`o video. Nors pamatėme tikrai daug, pavaikščiojome po levadas, kuriose prasilenkėme su dviem pasimetusiais ir kelio nerandančiais turistais ir vienu triušiu (daugiau nieko nesutikome), nebuvo jokio skubėjimo, lėkimo, bėgimo. O mūsų dukrai (jai 7 metai) labiausiai patiko važiuoti džipu atsistojus :)

5.00We had an amazing time on our jeep tour through central Madeira with Miguel! From start to finish, he was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. Miguel has a real passion for the island, and it showed in the way he shared stories, history, and local insights throughout the journey. He took us to stunning viewpoints and hidden spots we never would have found on our own. The ride itself was fun and adventurous, but always felt safe thanks to his skill behind the wheel. 5.00As a family of four with two children of 4 and 7 we took the Central tour. We would recommend everyone visiting the island to book a jeep tour with Miguel because we believe it is a whole other, authentic, experience than other jeep tours. Miguel really knows the island and where to go for good food and good views. He also has a lot of information about the culture and agriculture of the island. Great memories of this day!!

5.00When I was looking for a private trip I found a lot of companies that seemed too commercial to me, I finally found Miguel a charming man who works alone and takes trips with all his heart. Miguel took us to see the real Myrda, how locals live and grow their food, tours on trails that only a 4*4 GIF could go through, was friendly and tolerant and explained everything with professionalism and a lot of knowledge. We experienced amazing scenery, Louvre, plantations and agricultural crops, drank a local punch and liked beer made on site and ate giant jars in a local restaurant.
Off road where possible and an exciting day :/)

5.00If I could award 10 stars I would do that:-) Miguel carefully checked the weather the day before and adjusted our tour accordingly. He was on time to the minute and both he and the elderly vehicle :-) drove me safely and competently through Madeira. Great was: even where tourists do NOT come... also to local bar/restaurant where everyone knew him and we were treated accordingly courteously. He explained all sorts of things - the levadas, viticulture and farming, told stories and gave me many opportunities to photograph. The day with Miguel I liked very much and if I did not come to Madeira I would do a tour with him again.
