What To Expect

In the heart of Helsinki, try how it feels floating around in cold water staying completely warm and dry. With our instructor, hear about rescue at sea, hypotermia and about the benefits in starting ice swimming! Relax lying on top of the water or jump around on floating ice rafts during the winter season (when there is ice). This activity is always done in natural conditions and in the water. In open water season we focus on the rescue at sea, relaxation and also survival techniques. In ice conditions we focus on ice behavior, its effects and relaxation. You can come as you are in normal seasonal clothing to a on-shore location agreed. We provide you with everything you need for the float. Locations may vary due to weather conditions.

This was the MOST fun. Olli was so knowledgeable and a great guide. He made sure we were completely safe while we were on the ice. 10/10 experience. They give you extra socks, mittens, and sweaters. I was so warm in the suit it was almost too warm. I would definitely do this again! Highlight of our trip to Helsinki.

Absolutely fabulous experience in the ice! Ollie looked after us (two women in their 60s) so well and after some relaxing floating amongst the ice we felt brave enough to try walking on the ice until it cracked and broke and we were in the water with the survival suits doing their job brilliantly. Just the best experience

We had a fabulous time! We had a nervous swimmer and someone very trepidatious about the cold in our group—and both had an excellent time! The crew really made all of us feel at ease, even on a pretty rugged day in terms of the weather and wind. The experience is totally unique—and something we did when stranded in Helsinki for an extra day due to cancelled flights—and it is now an unforgettable memory from our Great Nordic Adventure of New Years 2026! Highly recommend!

I went with my partner and 2 friends, and we all had the best time! It has definitely been the highlight of our trip to Helsinki so far.
