Emancipation Park materialized and proudly stands as a Kingston landmark and an excellent metaphor of the resilience and strength of the Jamaican people.
Devon House
The former home of George Stiebiel, described as Jamaica's first black millionaire, is now one of the few public green spaces left in Kingston. and is also curated as a national heritage site. The surrounding grounds hold several world class eateries such as The Grog Shoppe, Norma's on Terrace and Devon House Bakery. Devon House was also selected "4th Best Place in the World" to enjoy ice cream by National Geographic's 'Food Journeys of a Lifetime' publication in 2011. Also there is a Devon House mansion tour where guests can peek into each room, including the beautifully designed and maintained dining room, master bedroom and elegant ballroom. and also see the original location of the National Gallery of Jamaica

A Must Do Tour that is Right on Target

5.00We recently visited the Bunny Lee Museum and Recording Studio in Kingston. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Jamaica to visit this museum/studio in order get a greater appreciation of the history of Jamaica. Upon entering the museum, you literally step back in time and discover the artists , producers and other key people who were the building blocks of Jamaican music . You hear and see their stories and listen to the music who were initially all under the production and influence of the great Bunny (Striker) Lee … producer, and musical icon in Jamaica. You learn about his influence and his mark on so many Jamaican artists. You then go inside the studio where it all happened and see the countless 45’s, LP’s and tapes that were borne from the original recording equipment that is on display. The owner, Striker Jr, is passionate speaking about his father and showcasing his father’s influence on Jamaican music. His commentary and his hands on interactive presentation draws you in so that everyone can relive the experience from those early days in Jamaican music which only adds to the wonderful experience of this tour. 5.00The Bunny Lee museum is a huge experience if you want to discover and see the legacy of jamaican music. The museum has a lot of history and all the pieces inside the place are part of a heritage well preserved. I highly recommend this tour for anybody who is visiting Jamaica. Thanks Bunny for all the work you've done for Jamaican music. Respect!

5.00If you do one museum tour whilst in Jamaica you MUST do this one! Everything about it… the history, the stories, it’s all there within these walls along with the original equipment used by the legend Bunny himself. Bunny’s family and friends are super nice people too! My guide Kris went above and beyond to make my stay memorable! I shall return

5.00An unexpected treat. We had not originally put this on our schedule but we’re so glad we did. It filled in a big gap in our knowledge of reggae history. Amilcar And Uncle Chris were great hosts and full of fascinating items and stories. There are some amazing exhibits and it really tells the story of the influence Bunny Lee had on reggae in Jamaica and the UK. As supporters (and a volunteer of the UK’s Coventry Music Museum it was great to share information about ska. Definitely worth music lovers including in your plans.

5.00Excellent tour of the recording studio & museum. Brilliant hosts and guides round the tour. Learned so much about this musical legend. Saw some amazing artefacts along the way! Worth every penny. A must visit for Reggae & Ska music fans.
