Excellent experience in every way! Fabulous & varied Champagne Houses - Veuve Cliquot tour was excellent. The car was comfortable. Our guide, Anne was exceptional - friendly & very knowledgeable about wine and French history. A wonderful day!

We have now done three tours through the Champagne region, which is probably one more than strictly necessary (Alicia would say definitively one more). That context matters: we came in with high expectations and a low tolerance for filler. Our guide Chloe knew her material, but leaned too hard on a brand of humor built around fake threats and provocative jokes. It got a laugh or two early on and landed with a thud by hour four. Veuve Clicquot was the whole reason we booked this tour, and the caves alone justify the visit. They are vast, ancient, and quietly spectacular. No access to production, but the story of the widow Clicquot herself is genuinely fascinating, and the tasting stepped up with two 2015 vintages: a blanc and a rosé. Vintage Champagne is the exception rather than the rule, and both were lovely. Le Clos Courbier fed us well enough. Hummus and cheese pastries to open, a pastry-wrapped meatloaf-style main, bread and cheese, cream pastry to finish. Comfortable and convivial, without anything that will haunt your memory. Hautvillers is worth seeing once. We had already seen it. The church where Dom Pérignon is buried is atmospheric and historically interesting, but it doesn’t improve with repetition. P. Lancelot-Roger closed the day, which meant a third walkthrough of the Champagne production process in a single afternoon. By this point the riddling racks held no mysteries for anyone in our group. Skip the lecture, go straight to the tasting: their Grand Cru Brut Nature was the best glass of the day, and at €29 a bottle it was a genuine find. We bought one. Two things the operator should fix. First, no water anywhere: not on the bus, not during tastings. On a day structured around drinking, this is a real oversight. Second, our previous tours in Bourgogne always started with croissants. It sounds trivial, but those small gestures are exactly what separate a good tour from a memorable one. This one did not clear that bar. Solid, honest, and worth booking if Champagne is new to you. If you have done this before, go in with calibrated expectations.

Although this was one of the more expensive tours it was very good value We were a party of 7 so they picked us up from our hotel Thomas was our guide who was amazing so much knowledge not just on the champagne but on all the places we went to visit We all decided our favourite champagne house was the family run one P. Lancelot-Royer

The veuve tour was our first stop in the morning for us and was extremely well done (by veuve rep). From here we stopped in abbey to see where Dom P was laid and learned the history from our tour guide. Lunch was next up and could not have been better. All homemade French cuisine pared with 2 champagnes of the local house and a Pinot noir. Followed by coffee of course and an impromptu “shoot the cork in the bucket game”. We then went for pics and an incredible view of the Marne river. Next up was a visit to a local champagne house followed by a tasting (we liked hearing their story!). Alas, back to departure point. Def recommend!

Highly recommend this tour! We met at the train station in Reims right on time and our tour guide Thomas was excellent. We first headed to Veuve Cliquot and had an amazing tour there. Then we headed to a smaller champagne producer where we had a fabulous tour and delicious lunch including champagne, wine & a local Liquor. Stopped to see where the tomb of Dom Perignon is in a small church. Then on to another small champagne producer for another tasting. It was a Mercedes minivan that fit our small group of eight very comfortably. We were then dropped back off to the train station in Reims. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and his English was great. Wonderful tour with this company A La Francaise!

A good overview of Epernay, with the focus on Veuve Clicquot, includes small Champagne wineries, lunch and close views of vineyards.

This was a great tour. They were harvesting grapes and they made some stops so we could get out and watch the process. Love our guide. Lunch was delicious and tasting wine with the food made it all come together. Wonderful day!

Julie, our guide was charming and very helpful. The visit to the fascinating VCP cellars and the excellent champagne, obviously. The Vallée de la Marne is beautiful and the tastings at the small producers were delicious. Excellent day in good company.

This was my birthday present and it did not disappoint!! What a fantastic experience! Jerome our guide from A La Francaise Tours is the BEST! Everything was perfect! We started at Veuve Clicquot, then headed to a smaller champagne house for more tasting and lunch. We then visited the church location where Dom Perignon is buried and learned so much!! (Like he wasn't a winemaker 😅) We were able to take beautiful photos from the picturesque hillside view! We then toured what we considered "saving the best for last"--- a small family owned champagne house P. Lancelot-Royer where a husband, his wife (Marie)and brother-in-law are managing the business to take over from the parents. It was so beautiful to see the chalk caves that they built below their home. Their hospitality was phenomenal and their champagne is better than some of the bigger production houses. Thank you Marie for sharing with us! Thank you Jerome for intruding us! We're so glad we shipped two cases home. Don't miss this one folks! You'll certainly enjoy it!
