An amazing, once in a lifetime experience! Even though the weather was less than ideal so we had to miss the reindeer sledding, the feeding, the stew and learning about the Sami culture more than made up for it.

The excursion was a success, the pick up at bus station, which was very quick and professional. The bus journey was smooth and quite short. When we arrived at the reindeer farm/holding area, we were met by Inga who was very pleasant and welcoming. We had our safety briefing outing what we would be doing and what we could expect on the day. Unfortunately for us there was insufficient snow for the sledding, but we did receive partial refund. We fed the reindeer, which was quite interesting and all the Sami were helpful and informative. There was a souvenir hut, as you can expect it was quite expensive, but all of the items are too quality. We were provided reindeer stew, which was delicious, a vegetarian option was available. Coffees and hot chocolate readily available with endless cookies. But the best part for me was Inga explaining how the Sami have had to endure oppression in their native lands. Then she sang two traditional and personal Sami songs

We brought our kids to see the reindeer and we weren't disappointed. Weather didn't permit for the sleigh ride because there was too much ice - you could see the reindeer slipping as they walked around, so we were actually glad they canceled that portion - but it was a beautiful day and the location of the farm is gorgeous. Looks out over the water and we spent an hour and a half wandering around feeding the herd. They're really cute, docile and walk right up to the feed bucket. The experience part was fun, too, got a bit of history and a little taste of the Sami culture which we enjoyed. But if you have kids that are animal lovers do not miss this visit. When we asked our kids (8, 11) what their favorite part of our vacation was, both agreed that this was their top excursion. Very fun.

Experience was wonderful feeding the reindeer, learning about Sami culture and the meal. Our sledding was canceled because it was too icy for the animals. I understand, but wish their was some alternative offered. They gave us a prompt refund for this portion.

Despite not being able to participate in a reindeer sleigh ride due to an increased risk of reindeer injuring themselves on ice (The ground was really icy then.), feeding the reindeer herd and listening to stories of Sami people’s customs, language, and history was both educationally interesting and entertaining. Trying reindeer stew in a genuine Sami lodging setting was memorable. By the way, we were informed that a sleigh portion of the original price would be reimbursed. The time went by so fast!

We booked the Arctic Reindeer Sami reindeer sledging through Get Your Guide and found that Tromso Arctic Reindeer were the providers. They were very efficient and we found them at the Bus Station where they said and caught the coach to the location. A simple and clever idea of everyone wearing snap bands and once you are on the sledges then they were removed and took away any problems of who and where you had to be. Always remember that even though the Reindeer are very friendly they are wild animals and treat them as such. Our Sami Guides were very friendly and knowledgeable Would highly recommend this trip

A wonderful half day feeding the beautiful reindeer, then a sled ride followed by lunch and an extremely interesting insight into Sami culture by the engrossing Inga.

Very informative and entertaining talk about Sami culture. The sleigh ride I had imagined a little differently. It took place on the fenced large grounds of the farm and one was more or less led in a large circle. The sleds were quite wet from the sleet and then you had to sit in that wet. Not pleasant even with appropriate equipment. We were in 1. Sledging round on it. For the 2. It was certainly much better on the lap, as the sleds were already dry by sitting on them.
