Seiland is a unique and beautiful part of Western Finnmark’s island nature, with small and large fjords surrounded by steep mountains that plunge into the sea. On this trip we take you on an exciting RIB boat ride across the Alta fjord, past picturesque mountains towards the far end of the fjord.

What To Expect

Enjoy an easy and beautiful day trip to the south side of Seiland island and get a taste of its unique nature. Seiland is a unique and beautiful part of Western Finnmark’s island nature, with small and large fjords surrounded by steep mountains that plunge into the sea. Seiland’s two glaciers are the northernmost in Scandinavia. The steep coastal mountains are a breeding ground for a rich population of birds of prey. The ultrabasic bedrock in the south gives rise to a particularly lush plant life. We will also have the opportunity to experience wildlife, such as seals and sea eagles up close. On this trip we take you on an exciting RIB boat ride across the Altafjord, past picturesque mountains towards the far end of the fjord. We will ride past Seilands lush green mountains and go ashore in Bekkarfjord, Seilands most beautiful fjord.

We were warmly welcomed on 30.10 and could start our tour despite a lack of minimum number of people for 2. The boat trip, as well as a short hike with our tour guide we enjoyed very much. Through his good eye he was even able to give us a little walk. He also has superhuman reflexes and caught my cap in the air after I lost it while driving. Best guide ever.

When we saw the stuff we had to wear we questioned “are we too old to do this trip?” Once in our gear and on the ribb boat we relaxed and enjoyed every moment of this adventure. Our photos just don't do justice to what we saw. Great adventure!

Tour guide was fantastic. A little rough on the way out but nothing you can do. The wind was into us. The views are spectacular. It is a bit uncomfortable sitting on the RIB boat for the over 1 hour each way to the park but it is the fastest way to cover all that ground.

The port was canceled due to dangerous weather conditions and the tour operator would only refund 50% of the amount paid, telling us to contact our insurance for the balance. A tour operator advertising as a cruise tour should understand they are dealing with cruise ship passengers. This particular company does not offer a refund if the ship can't dock like most others.
