This tour was far better than expected! Our tour guide, Matteo, was incredibly knowledgeable and very easy going. The Capuchin Crypts were hauntingly beautiful and the catacombs were incredible! The drive to and from locations was luxurious. It was just amazing to see all of the history surrounding us here in Rome!

To start of we were not a large group, but once we were are the crypt, the English group grew so large, it actually quadrupled in size- it should have been half that amount of people to hear the guide a little better. I felt that this tour was far too expensive. If you went to the museum it would not have been that expensive! And then picked up a guide at the crypt. And why were we left in the middle of nowhere- we should have been dropped off, where we were picked up! We were told that the drop off was a different area- but why so far out? The guide was very good with the commentery.

Ilaria the guide was excellent! She was so enthusiastic, informative and engaging throughout the tour. She gave us some great recommendations of local restaurants and was very knowledgeable about Roman history. We were very impressed with her and even signed up for the Food tour by the Tour guy company which she was hosting. Overall amazing and highly recommend this tour! It is certainly worth every second!!

Our tour guide Australian (I can’t remember her name) but she was really amazing and knowledgeable. You listen to an audio tour at the crypts and and they have an archaeologist that gives the tour at the catacombs. The tour guide fills in all the rest along the way and can answer questions you have. She also arranged all the transport to and from each place. Driving in Rome is not for the faint of heart so we were very happy to have this done for us. She also gave great recommendations for dinner in the different neighborhoods after. I would 10/10 recommended. It was all very interesting and everyone was very knowledgeable and nice.

Listen… this Rome Catacombs & Capuchin Crypts VIP Group Tour with Transfers was EVERYTHING I didn’t know I needed. If you ever wanted to feel like you’re starring in your own history documentary and a horror movie at the same time, BOOK. THIS. TOUR. First of all, shout-out to our driver who pulled up like we were the Pope’s cousins — real VIP energy. Doors open, Heater blasting, and driving like he had a personal grudge against Roman traffic. I felt famous and terrified at the same time. Then we went underground. Baby… when I say UNDERGROUND, I mean down into the Earth like we was going to check on the dinosaurs. The Catacombs were dark, mysterious, and had me questioning every choice I ever made. The guide was out there talking about “These tunnels are from the 2nd century,” and I’m walking through like, “And they still using them!? Y’all sure this is safe?” Every time the lights flickered, I thought somebody’s ancient uncle was about to tap me on the shoulder and tell me to go home. And then… the Capuchin Crypts. Whew. Bones. So many bones. Bones arranged like wall art, bones arranged like chandeliers, bones arranged like they hired a very committed interior designer with a spooky vision board. I was standing there like, “Not them Bedazzle-ing a whole hallway with femurs.” Meanwhile the guide is explaining the spiritual meaning and I’m just trying not to scream in English. But it was BEAUTIFUL in that “I probably need sage after this” kind of way. They should’ve warned me that the vibes go from National Geographic to American Horror Story: Vatican Edition real quick. The whole tour was organized, educational, creepy, funny, and definitely something I’ll be talking about until further notice. Also—walking through those narrow tunnels? I know I lost at least three pounds in fear-sweat. So technically it doubles as a wellness experience. Would I recommend it? ABSOLUTELY. Would I go again? Maybe… with emotional support. If you want history, mystery, holy energy, and a tiny sprinkle of psychological trauma — this tour is for you. 10/10. An unforgettable journey beneath Rome… literally.
