Colosseum
Your journey into antiquity begins with the Colosseum, one of the world’s most iconic sights. Your guide will call on their historical and archaeological expertise to tell you all about the battles, both physical and political, that played out in this incredible amphitheater. You might be surprised to learn that ‘Gladiator’ didn’t get everything right and that feats of ancient engineering even allowed the Romans to re-enact naval battles here.
Palatine Hill
The next stop takes you back to the very beginning. The Palatine Hill is the spot Romulus chose to found the city that would become Rome in 753 BC – a decision that ended in tragedy for his brother Remus. Here, steeped in history, you’ll enjoy spectacular views overlooking your next destination: the Roman Forum.

5.00We travelled to Rome for our honeymoon and both agree that one of the best things we did was book City Tours for our adventures. Incredible amount of history, really supported my wife with her unhappy ankle (which we later found to be a torn ligament), answered every question we and others had and did not mind repeating themselves. Extremely kind and informative, it was our first walking tour and we would only ever want to book with them!

5.00My sister and I came into Rome a day later than expected and we had to cancel another tour and booked this one last minute. We really enjoyed the tour with Maria Luisa! She took time to answer questions and was very sweet and informative. We were a party of about 15 people and we used headphones provided during the tour to hear her clearly. I would have never known any of the things she pointed out along the way! Thank you Maria! 🤗

5.00Great tour. Well organised small group tour under an affordable price. Would like to special mention of our tour guy knownledge of Rome and the Colosseum's history which keeps everyone in the group engaged and interested throughout the entire tour without taking us too far into the history. He is funny, energetic, knowledgeable and very easy going. In my opinion, he makes the tour fun and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone especially if he is the tour guide. 11 out of 10 is my score to this tour.
