Colosseum
Your journey into antiquity begins with the Colosseum, one of the world’s most iconic sights. Your guide will call on their historical and archaeological expertise to tell you all about the battles, both physical and political, that played out in this incredible amphitheater. You might be surprised to learn that ‘Gladiator’ didn’t get everything right and that feats of ancient engineering even allowed the Romans to re-enact naval battles here.
Palatine Hill
The next stop takes you back to the very beginning. The Palatine Hill is the spot Romulus chose to found the city that would become Rome in 753 BC – a decision that ended in tragedy for his brother Remus. Here, steeped in history, you’ll enjoy spectacular views overlooking your next destination: the Roman Forum.

Our tour guide Lorenzo was very knowledgeable and attentive. We enjoyed the insights he shared with us. The Tour fee was too high compared to the actual admission fee( 85 vs 25 euros). I would just buy the tickets with Audio and do it by myself if I would do it again.

Our tour guide, Scott, was fantastic - extremely knowledgeable on the broader history as well as the details. A bonus was the verbal tour of Rome from Palatine Hill and Scott’s great demeanor and sense of humor. Thank you!

Everything started on time. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. Maria Louise was our guide and she was amazing. She made the entire walk fun and answered all questions. It was clear she was passionate about the culture and the history of the colloseum. It's a long walk with a stop in the middle. I would bring water and a snack.

Normally our experience is great with Viator tours. We were disappointed with our guide on this trip. Hard to keep up with, hard to hear, and not great at story telling the history. We got separated from our group for over an hour.

Our knowledgeable and very awesome guide Haythm gave us an experience to remember. Whilst an extremely busy day, we took our time to explore the Colosseum and surrounding area in depth; our guide knew many shortcuts to avoid lines/queues and also provided us with stops for shade, hydration and toilet breaks. Would definitely recommend this tour!

We enjoyed an excellent tour of the Colosseum and forum with Hisam as our guide! He made sure to go at a good pace for everybody and make sure that we got the best pictures!! It was a long tour and very hot, but he did work on getting us some shade whenever possible. If you’re doing this tour, I recommend water and sunscreen. There are places to refill your water, which is awesome. Excellent to overall

This was an awesome experience. We lucked out with a mild, partly sunny day but I think this would have been hard for me on a very hot day as I am not used to the heat. There are a lot of stairs and walking mostly outdoors so good shoes, hat, sunscreen, water & a snack are all important for a comfortable day. Our guide, Georgio, was so kind, fun, knowledgeable, and engaging. It was tricky for us to find the meet spot until a local shared it is literally on top of the Metro B line and we needed to use the stairs from inside the Metro entryway to get up there. Georgio quickly put us at ease. We loved his humor and the incredible amount of history he knows. He was sure to check on everyone throughout the tour and answered lots of questions. He was very friendly and patient with us to make sure we all had a good experience. I especially enjoyed the way he described what was common at the time and drew correlations between historic Rome and what we are like today. This was a major highlight of our Italy tour. I'm so glad we booked early.

Our guide Gorgio was excellent! He was very personable and knowledgable. He kept us engaged while giving us a lot of information but not overwhelmed. He answered all our questions and added additional insights and fun stories. He allowed us to enjoy the sites while keeping us moving at a good pace. Well balanced tour with an easy to like guide who knows his stuff!
