Henry was AWESOME!!!! So passionate, captivating and good at narrating this tour! He made it a 5 star experience for sure. He even kept his calm when a nearby tourist took off with his informative book that he had been sharing with us. Luckily we ran into the that person before we left the coliseum and were able to return the missing book! Henry you’re awesome!!! Thank you for being entertain, kind and classy!

We found our tour a bitterly disappointing experience. As a family of five we have never spent so much money on an single holiday activity but considered it a once in a lifetime investment - persuaded by reviews that talked of it being small group and kid friendly. It was neither of those things. Our guide seemed a lovely man but he spoke continuously about minute details (particularly related to the brickwork) and gave no sense of the place as a whole - the people who visited it, the kinds of things they did, what life was like. It was an ordeal from start to finish, not helped by a 45 minute queue for the toilet that we were directed to by the guide and a reversal of the advertised order, meaning a very stressful and brief (15 minute) visit to the Coloseum itself. Worst of all was that we would have had a much better experience with no guide at all, being able to read the signs to find out information and go at our own pace (which is what we did at Pompei a few days later). We'd also have been 300 euros better off.

We booked a tour of the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill. Our tour guide Ksenia was superb giving us a running commentary about all aspects of Rome, roman civilisation and other interesting facts as we went. Most importantly, she navigated us through the various security checks and checkpoints taking the stress out of navigating an incredibly busy place. Ksenia was incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic and made the history come to life. This was money well spent and we all enjoyed it!
