For reservations made after 4:00 PM, there may not be enough time to visit the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. You’re welcome to start earlier or return the next day to access the Forum.

5.00Well, it's a bunch of ruins and old stuff. But we were blown away with the information Hillary had about every little detail of the Palatine Hill and the Colosseum. While we *thought* the Colosseum would be the highlight of the tour, walking through the ruins nearby was truly fascinating and laid the groundwork for the Colosseum visit. In retrospect, I didn't realize how important the first part was to the Colosseum visit. The entire tour was incredible. FWIW January weather was perfect for this tour. It was cool and clear (although it had been raining overnight so some places were muddy/slick). Be aware: There's a lot of uneven surfaces and steps. And while there's probably some work-around for those with serious mobility issues, it's going to be tough going.

1.00We were booked on a semi-private tour (6 people max) at 13:30, but yesterday we were contacted about changing to the 10:30 tour due to “operational reasons”. When we showed up today they had put us in a tour with 25 people. The tour guide didn’t have a map for us and we had to wait until someone found headphones for us. Within 2 minutes we realized it was not going to work for and we turned out head set back in and left the tour. We expected that the rescheduled tour would be semi-private which is what we paid for only to be dumped in a large group. I’m very disappointed by how Viator staff handled the situation and I’d like refund.

4.00The audio guide is by an application, previously downloaded. Within the Coliseum, the text does not correspond to specific places, which disappointed me. I expected better explanations, not a generic historical text. Already in the Roman Forum, the audio was related to a map with each structure, which was much better.

4.00Our guide, Francesca was very informative and funny. She offered passionate insights to the history of Rome and the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Highly recommend doing this tour out of peak season if possible when the number of tourists are less and security checks are shorter. NOTE - bring photo ID for under 18s as it will be checked.

1.00This experience was awful. We booked with them a couple hours ahead and right after booking and paying, they called us and told us the site accepted our booking but they were overbooked. So they made it so we were supposed to experience the AUDIO version. When we got there, it was not clear where the guide was and they were 10 minutes late. Then there was no AUDIO guide, they just handed us a paper and told us to go in. They told us our tickets for the coliseum would end at 3:15 and we paid extra to go the arena area. When we got there early and tried to get into the arena they told us it was closed. We were very upset about how we paid extra for all these extras and a guided a tour and when we asked why we would get charged full price when we could have just paid the entry fee like normal experience ( the one we basically got) they ignored us. We are very unhappy and still looking for refund or some type of reimbursement after this disaster.
