Most day trips to Pompei from Rome take 12 or more hours and involve 6 to 8 hours sitting on a cramped bus.
This all-inclusive tour by high-speed train is the utmost in comfort, quality and convenience. Reach Naples in one hour, and from there in only 35 minutes by coach we arrive at Pompeii where your expert local guide will amaze you during a walking tour of this city devastated by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in AD 79.
Experience a world frozen in time as you stroll along the cobblestone ancient roads where perfectly conserved ancient bakeries, shops, stalls, residences, public baths and even brothels remain! Take in the tragic plaster casts of the Pompeiians who were immortalized on that devastating day by pyroclastic flow and ash.
Upon conclusion of the guided tour you'll enjoy a tasting of four of the wines produced in the fertile volcanic soil of Mt. Vesuvius followed by an abundance of antipasti, a first course and dessert before returning to Naples for your return trip.

Friendly and knowledgeable guides, perfect amount of exploration, lovely winery, comfy train and shuttle, competent driver... Really great overall! They made every possible effort to successfully get me on the train when my bus was stuck and arrived late to Termini, even running ahead to the platform to yell at the train guys to hold another few extra seconds! The good weather and luckily fabulous other travellers were just the cherry on top. Fabulous day!

A fantastic bucket list trip to Pompeii - organised well from start to finish. Clear instructions sent via email on where and when to meet at Termini. Group was all together on the train and met some lovely travelling companions before being our one of two groups we as taken by our guide Felicia at Naples station via air conditioned coach to Pompeii. Felicia was a passionate, friendly and knowledgeable guide who you could tell loved Pompeii. Got a real feel for life in the city which is vast. Lunch at the winery was good before heading back on our train where we met our original guide who again was friendly and patient with us. Would recommend. Would recommend.

This tour was absolutely amazing. Fabrizio guided us to and from Pompeii by train and he was personable and funny, like talking to an old friend. Super enjoyable. We had Felicia as our guide and she was equally amazing. She was born and raised in Pompeii and has a degree in archeology. She has not only a passion for the area, but has made it her life’s mission. Her enthusiasm and knowledge are unmatched I am sure. She’s incredibly informative and friendly. The people on our tour were also great. Getting the chance to meet so many from different parts of the country and world was a blast. We had an amazing lunch and wine tasting at Bosco de’ Medici. And that staff was very attentive and fun. We honestly would not have changed one thing about the entire day. Highly recommend this tour.

Great trip, I’d recommend it… Met by guide Fabrizio at the (Termini) station, got to admit I was bit concerned as there seemed to be so many people, and I wondered how Fabrizio would cope, but not to worry, as soon as we arrived in Napoli, we were split into 3 groups. The somewhat fraught Fabrizio managed to get us to the train, and was dashing up and down ensuring everyone knew what was happening. In Napoli we were met by our guide for the main part of the day, Frederica, who took us to our mini bus to Pompeii. Upon arrival, issued us with our bluetooth headsets so she could explain to us the wonders of Pompeii, for 2 ½ hours we strolled around with Frederica pointing out the features of the historical site, such as shops, amphitheatres, houses, murals, male and female washrooms, even the locations of the Pompeii brothel. Also persons encased in lava. Frederica clearly has great knowledge of the site and was able to answer all questions, she also pointed out that the Pompeii is huge, and it is impossible to see it all in 2 ½ hours. After Pompeii, back on the shuttle bus to the wine tasting and lunch, greeted by a glass of white prosecco, then sat down for lunch, with four more samples of wine to savour, with information of the grape, style and foods that would accompany them. Then lunch was served, cheese & prosciutto, pasta in tomato sauce, then a small sweet treat, all followed by a small glass of Limocello before boarding the shuttler bus back to the Napoli station for the train journey back Rome. A most enjoyable day.
