Most day trips to Pompei from Rome take 12 or more hours and involve 6 to 8 hours sitting on a cramped bus.
This all-inclusive tour by high-speed train is the utmost in comfort, quality and convenience. Reach Naples in one hour, and from there in only 35 minutes by coach we arrive at Pompeii where your expert local guide will amaze you during a walking tour of this city devastated by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in AD 79.
Experience a world frozen in time as you stroll along the cobblestone ancient roads where perfectly conserved ancient bakeries, shops, stalls, residences, public baths and even brothels remain! Take in the tragic plaster casts of the Pompeiians who were immortalized on that devastating day by pyroclastic flow and ash.
Upon conclusion of the guided tour you'll enjoy a tasting of four of the wines produced in the fertile volcanic soil of Mt. Vesuvius followed by an abundance of antipasti, a first course and dessert before returning to Naples for your return trip.

Great day. Knowledgeable and friendly guides with amazing sights of Pompeii. Much more impressive than we could have imagined. Restaurant and wine were great and finished the day off nicely. Thanks!

The execution of the trip was exceptional. The trip guides were super nice but the quality of the tour was a bit lacking. We appreciated the information but have heard better stories. The content and detail of history has been presented better in past tours. We ended the trip with a lunch at a winery. Our host was very personable and funny but for the price, we received only a full pour of sparkling wine and tiny sips of 4 of the vineyards speciality wines. Some lucky received a second portion but i never did. Our lunch consisted of a small charcuterie board and a bowl of pasta with tomato sauce. We all thought there would be more so left a bit in the anticipation. Nope, dessert was a small pastry that could have been skipped and we were went on our way. All in all, this was a well orchestrated trip but lacking in detail and historical content.

We enjoyed this tour and selected it for the convenience of the high speed train from Rome to Naples train station to meet our local tour guide Ida for the short trip to Pompei and 3 hour tour. Navigating the train system for the first time was much easier this way with the help of Fabrizio from Italia Tours. He was very friendly and welcoming and got us off to a great start! If you feel adventurous you can arrange your own transportation to Naples and begin your tour there, but it was nice to start meeting others in the group tour on our train ride over. The amount of time spent in Pompei was perfect, the crowds are much smaller in February and we did not feel rushed from one point of interest to the next. The history and details provided by Ida were very informative and she did a great job of painting the picture of what Pompei was like leading up to the eruption in 79AD. She was very respectful of the remains and the ruins. One of the highlights was being able to walk through a platform above the most recently escavated areas and those ongoing! Afterwards we went in a short bus ride to a local winery where we did a pleasant wine tasting and light lunch. Recommend having a large breakfast to maintain you during the day as the lunch was a sampling of charcuterie and a small bowl of pasta. They did offer extra pasta on the side. Getting to know others on the tour was the most enjoyable part of this second half of the day. Our return by train had us back in Rome in the early evening. I would not recommend making evening plans as you never know if trains will be delayed and it might be stressful to be locked in to plans you may not be able to keep. Overall, we would recommend this tour and if you are luck you might get Fabrizio and Ida as your guides!

A must do trip for everyone’s bucket list. Our guide brought the town to life with all sorts of interesting and fun information. Taking the fast train from Rome with a small group on a trip that included a wine tasting and lunch made it a day to remember. Vincenzo, our guide, was excellent and the organisation went like clockwork. Totally recommended.

Pompéi is a huge place and so worth seeing. But you need a guide to tell you what you’re looking at otherwise you’re just looking at a pile of rocks. Our guide was super informative and very passionate about the place. The train and connection to Pompeii was super helpful, especially if you’re with family and kids. The food and wine was ok but that’s just gravy on top, the real star of the show is Pompéi itself. It was an unforgettable experience and all thanks to the guide.

This was a great trip for us. We enjoyed everything from the high speed train, the informative introduction during the coach trip from Naples to Pompei, the guided tour and the wonderful lunch and wine tasting. To have guide, Felicity, who is a trained archaeologist and restoration specialist was unexpected and it added a depth of knowledge to the tour. Of course it wasn’t long enough but then 2 years would not be long enough to spend in Pompeii ! However by focusing on the story of people unnamed in history, we had a coherent view of day to day life. A wonderful day to spend with my family of young adults.

This is the best way to see Pompeii. The guide met us at the station got us on the train and traveled with us to Naples where our group was handed off to a local guide to tour the ruins. Felica was an amazing guide that made the town come to life. Her knowledge and passion were incredible. The winery stop was a great lunch with lots of wine before the trip home.

I was very excited about this tour in the way it was described. One notable thing, while they do not say 'small group', I was surprised to see exactly how large of a group we were. My fault for not asking about the group size, but that was a slight dissappoinment right off the bat. Overall, not completely dissatisfied, but for what this was, it did NOT deliver equivalent value to the cost. The guides were all professional and wonderful, as was the van driver from Naples to Pompeii. Also, nice train ride, they give you business class. The Pompeii ruins tour was good, but there hardly any plaster casts (??). Also, the size of the group made it hard to get a great experience at the ruins. The lunch is most definitely NOT NOT NOT 'farm to table' - that description is grossly INNACURATE, and borderline deceptive. It was cold cuts from the grocery store + highly mediocre, undercooked pasta, with a bland sauce. The winery was fun, the staff was friendly, but the wines were not great ond one of the wines was actually terrible (if anyone is familiar with Temecula, CA - that particlar wine tasted like a bad Temecula wine - shocking!). My score is 5 for the tour staff, 3 for the ruins tour, and 2 for the lunch, and 1 for the enormous group size. Knowing what now I know, I would have passed on this large group tour with the bad lunch and opted to spend the money for smaller group, with the high speed train, and no lunch.
