Most day trips to Pompei from Rome take 12 or more hours and involve 6 to 8 hours sitting on a cramped bus.
This all-inclusive tour by high-speed train is the utmost in comfort, quality and convenience. Reach Naples in one hour, and from there in only 35 minutes by coach we arrive at Pompeii where your expert local guide will amaze you during a walking tour of this city devastated by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in AD 79.
Experience a world frozen in time as you stroll along the cobblestone ancient roads where perfectly conserved ancient bakeries, shops, stalls, residences, public baths and even brothels remain! Take in the tragic plaster casts of the Pompeiians who were immortalized on that devastating day by pyroclastic flow and ash.
Upon conclusion of the guided tour you'll enjoy a tasting of four of the wines produced in the fertile volcanic soil of Mt. Vesuvius followed by an abundance of antipasti, a first course and dessert before returning to Naples for your return trip.

The trip was very well organized and well executed! The guide (Carla) on the platform and on the train was both friendly and thorough. The guide on the van and in Pompeii (a diffident Carla) was very knowledgeable and explained everything clearly! It was a great trip and I would do it again!

A very well organised and seamless day out. Took all the stress out having great guides who we could trust to show us a terrific day. The tour of Pompeii was really fascinating, lots of extra information, and our guide made it all easy. Delicious lunch and wine tasting at the vineyard followed. A very enjoyable day.

Pompei is a massive archeological site, and coming from Rome it would have been very difficult to see all of it in one day. Based on what we received (i.e. highspeed train tickets, entry to Pompei, an AMAZING GUIDE, and wine tasting with lunch) I do feel like you get your money's worth. However, if you want to see as much of Pompei as possible in a short amount of time (at least half), this trip may not be for you. With the addition of the winery, your guide can really only get you to about 1/3 of the site, if the heat doesn’t get to you first. If you want to see some Pompei highlights and enjoy a good lunch and wine, this tour will be perfect for you. If you are looking for in-depth Pompei site tour to see as much as possible at the site itself, this may not be the right tour for you. Overall, I enjoyed this trip, but I would have chosen a different trip to see more of the Pompei site for my personal goals. Big shoutout to Vincenzo, who was a wonderful guide!
