Discover your own secret spot in the stunning Whakarewarewa Forest after your day’s adventures. You’ll find a place with great atmosphere and a warm welcome, where everything is beautifully handcrafted, from the western red cedar hot tubs to the craft beer and artisan coffee! Secret Spot has 12 hot tubs that are situated along the edge of the forest, overlooking the Puarenga Stream, and each hot tub is perfect for any group of friends or family up to 6 people.
You can also explore our unique café and bar set in a forest oasis with native plantings – we have smooth manuka-roasted coffee, Good George craft beer and cider, and Mills Reef wine. Have a bite to eat, play lawn games and enjoy our outdoor campfires, or unwind with a Shinny Dip foot hot tub, free with any drinks purchase.

About the experience: Soak in your own forest hot tub with cold plunge tubs and drinks delivered at the push of a button. Our fresh (non-geothermal) water is heated to the perfect temperature for you to enjoy a relaxing 45-minute soak. Hot tubs can fit up to six people and come with complimentary drinking water and lockers. You can bring your own swimwear, or we have swimwear, towels, and robes for hire. Check in 15 minutes before your booking. Whether you’re recovering after mountain biking the Redwoods, looking for a unique evening activity in Rotorua, or simply wanting to slow down and recharge, Secret Spot Hot Tubs is the private spa and wellness experience locals and visitors keep coming back to.

4.00I was probably a little disappointed. It wasn’t as private as I thought it was going to be. We had a bunch of girls next to us having a great time . But I could have joined their conversation 😂. Water was beautiful and clean but I could smell the chlorine. I did love how you could order food and drinks to be delivered. Overall it was pretty relaxing

5.00Wonderful experience! A private spa set in the beautiful NZ bush, with stunning views of the clear night sky. The facilities were excellent and everything was well organised. The cold plunge bath was a highlight and such a great experience. We loved having drinks ready for us at the spa — a lovely touch. The whole family had an amazing time. Highly recommend!
