Experience two iconic NZ visitor attractions in one amazing day starting in Rotorua and ending in Auckland. See the iconic Hobbiton Movie Set, the world-famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves and travel through the beautiful Waikato region.
Waitomo Glowworm Caves
We then continue on to Waitomo Caves, located in the King Country in the Waikato region. On this tour we travel via the Thermal Explorer Highway touring route, taking in the special region as we drive through the beautiful countryside of New Zealand’s North Island. At Waitomo, experience the underground wonderland that is Waitomo Glowworm Caves with thousands of Glowworms as the major attraction.

Safe and Very Enjoyable transfer from Rotorua to Auckland via Waitomo Caves

5.00Our driver, Curtis, was the highlight of our drive from Rotorua to Waitomo and on to Auckland. He was not only an excellent driver of a very comfortable Mercedes SUV, but he was perhaps the nicest person we met in New Zealand--and there were so many helpful, professional and kind Kiwis who we encountered during our travels! Curtis arrived on time (maybe a little early which was much appreciated) and drove us to the Waitomo Caves where my husband and I had a 3-hr. inner tube Glow Worm Tour at Ruakuri Cave by the Legendary Black Water Rafting Co. (see separate review). Since our tour was so small that day, Legendary invited Curtis to join our group (gratis) so he could provide helpful information to other clients. Unfortunately, TIME Unlimited Tours management felt that the driver's participation would be unwise. We were so disappointed that Curtis was not able to join us! He patiently waited 3 hours for our tour to end and our drive continued on to Auckland. The company provided water, snacks and we enjoyed a simple lunch at a cafe near the caves. We gained so many insights into New Zealand family life, culture, history, economy, healthcare, trends and so much more! TIME Unlimited Tours was fine and Curtis was the best part!
