Beautiful zoo. Highly recommend going here with kids. The aquarium is the best part. Lots of places to get a quick snack and lovely staff. There is quite a large range of animals. This zoo is way bigger compared to Artis, the zoo in Amsterdam.

Lately I have noticed more and more that the animals in Blijdorp are so little active and often invisible to the visitors. Maybe organize more activities to activate the animals. The tickets are expensive enough and as a visitor you can expect a bit more of that. Furthermore, the park is neatly clean and good signage. Hospitality and sanitary facilities are in order. The newest way to make money is to no longer provide a map for free, now 1 euro.

We were traveling with 2 children (9 years) at the zoo. The zoo is beautifully landscaped with different routes to walk. We were there a whole day. There is also the Oceaneum, where there was much to discover. Sometimes the paths are very narrow. Unfortunately, we haven't seen gorillas. We can recommend the zoo, if you book earlier the tickets are cheaper. Parking costs 12.50 € per day.

This is a must visit for all the family. Nice. Variety of animals. Spacious zoo. Nice to see polar bears but they were separate and looked far to hot exhibiting boredom symptoms as the large one kept walking the same path and looking to see the other one for company but sadly they were kept apart. There are not enough signs to find your way around and at least one large cafe was not opened.

After 10 years of not being there, I visited 'my' familiar zoo where I took many steps as a child. Besides a zoo, you might as well call it a botanical garden, because those gardens are just as beautiful! Compliments! Also most of the country houses are neat and well cared for, the indoor houses scared me a bit, I could use a little more attention... I also thought it was a huge hassle with the deposit, seniors really don't get around to this. At the very least, give people the option to arrange this at the cash register after consuming. I was fiddling with a deposit-tick-tick while there were 4 ladies at the register doing nothing. Especially in a place where many (grand)parents come, I find this all but customer-friendly.

Very nice day out. Nice large park with many different animals. Our children especially enjoyed the oceanium. In addition, a was a good parking. Nice staff who tell fun facts about the animals. Nice that the children could also be face-painted.

We are real zoo fans and have visited several zoos, including some zoos in the Netherlands. The zoo in Rotterdam is relatively large, but we still cannot recommend it, as many animals have relatively small enclosures, The polar bears and also the raccoon were clearly not doing well, but other animals such as the lions and gorillas also had enclosures that were too small.

This was by far the biggest Zoo I have ever seen. I would highly recomment this we where in total 8 persons including two persoons in a weelchair and one child. The facility is proper for all ages. Many atractions as well as souveniers shops, resraurants, bathrooms.

I came with my family to see the capybaras. I had seen videos on youtube that showed the capybaras of Rotterdam Zoo. But on the spot we discovered that the Amazon section is closed. So no capybaras. Staff told us that this Amazon section is permanently closed because it cost too much to maintain. Then we used the app, but it's not easy: you can't search for the animal you want to see, you have to choose from an incomplete list, and it's long, impractical.

Normally I’m not such a whiner, but this went a bit too far... okay that there can be some pests here and there is understandable with all the animals and the food, but there were just rats walking through the walkways during the day. I spotted 5 of them in the 3 hours we were there. Then we wanted to have a drink somewhere in the park and use the toilet, what I found there I really hated, trash cans that were so full that people started throwing it next to it. Then I opened the first best toilet that was free, there was a lot of faeces with paper on the floor... it didn't seem like the toilets there were cleaned every day. Furthermore, it is a really beautiful park, super nice! I hope the staff pick it up
