Experience a traditional reindeer sled ride in Lapland, hosted by a family connected to Sámi heritage in a small-group setting.
Operated by The Original Aurora Hunters®, Arctic GM is a family-run company with roots in Lapland dating back to the 1600s, combining local knowledge with a focus on authentic experiences.
After pickup, you will travel to a reindeer environment located away from busy tourist areas. Meet the reindeer, learn about their role in Arctic life, and take part in a 2.5 km sled ride through the surrounding landscape.
The ride is gentle and quiet, offering a relaxed way to experience nature.
After the ride, spend time with the reindeer, take photos, and learn more about their daily life and traditions connected to reindeer herding.
The experience includes time to warm up with hot drinks in a traditional setting.

What To Expect
Rovaniemi
Begin your experience with pickup in Rovaniemi and transfer to a reindeer farm located outside the city in a quiet natural setting. On arrival, you will be welcomed and introduced to the reindeer. Your guide will explain how the sled ride works before you take part in a traditional 2.5 km reindeer sleigh ride through the surrounding landscape. The ride is gentle and quiet, offering a relaxed way to experience the Arctic environment. After the ride, spend time at the farm learning about reindeer herding, local traditions, and daily life. You will also have the opportunity to take photos with the reindeer. At the end of the visit, you will receive a reindeer driving license as a souvenir of your experience. During the tour, you will warm up with hot drinks in a traditional setting before returning to Rovaniemi. Total duration is approximately 2–3 hours.

5.00Very good trip, they picked up us at the hotel then we got to see the animals and go on speed tour. My girl is five years old and that it was so good! Then after they drooped us off at the hotel.

5.00Such an amazing experience, learned lots about the reindeer and they are such kind gentle animals. Had the best time feeding them and going on the sleigh pulled by them and was finished off with hot chocolate around the fire. Would 1000% recommend, it’s a must do in Lapland!
