What To Expect
A unique and special experience in Cartagena with a tasting of our own premium aged Colombian rum and artisanal Bolivar chocolate made in our factory. For almost two hours, you will learn about the production and history of our rums amid laughter and pirate stories. You will taste eight premium Colombian rums of different ages and origins, accompanied by an exquisite selection of chocolates made in house with the best Colombian cocoa from the Caribbean. You will also enjoy three savory snacks typical of the local cuisine, completing your journey through the flavors and aromas of Colombia. During the tour, there will be stories, fun discussions, and lots of laughter. It is important to note that this is not a class, but simply an opportunity to enjoy a few drinks, although you will learn a lot along the way. 5.00Fabulous tasting. Wide variety of rums, aguardientes, and chocolates. Delightful host, bright clean location, a lot of fun. Wendy was our host and she made the tastings informational and personal. We had so much fun! The snacks they prepared for us were delicious as well. This is definitely the tour to go on on Cartagena.

5.00Our hostess, Alejandra, was fun, very well versed in the different types of rum that she served us. The whole experience was great, from tasting, to chatting with Alejandra, to asking questions and receiving proper answers. In the end, we stayed for dinner as well. Arsenal is a cute small venue with very nice staff and good food. I’d totally go back to just have a drink with friends. Quite enjoyed the place. For people who want to try different types of rum, this is a fun one to try

5.00We were a group of 7 and loved our Private Rum Tasting with Sebastian! We tasted 8 rums and had a delicious cocktail as well that was Sebastians own creation. Passion Rouge! We got to learn about the local rums to Cartagena and Colombia and enjoy some chocolates/small tapas paired with them. Delicious! We mentioned checking on the chocolate shop afterwards and Sebastian was sweet enough to take us over and give us a brief tour of the small factory as well. Very much worth it!

5.00This was a fabulous experience from start to finish. Sebastian is an extraordinary rum expert. He taught us so much about the different rums - how they were made, tasting notes, history, etc. and the food and chocolate pairings with each of the different rums was delicious. Sebastian also made us his own signature cocktail “La Passion Rouge”. Yummmmm! El Arsenal is located in the historic Getsemani district of Cartagena and provides a wonderful break in your site seeing. Added bonus - you can purchase rums and chocolates to take with you.
