Not really a museum in the traditional sense but more a guided interactive tour. You are ushered upstairs into a room then taken into a number of other rooms as part of a group with a guide explaining a but about samurai and then ninja history. The tour takes about 45 minutes and includes some ninja star throwing at the end before you are ushered into the v small shop before exiting via a rear fire escape. A diverting visit and informative and not expensive. The tour involves navigating staircases and the building is air conditioned.

This was an awesome experience to learn about Shogun, Samurai, and Ninjas history. And how it’s all tied into Feudal system and Japan’s history. At the end you can purchase your own Samurai sword/katana. Our guide through the museum was VERY Informative and Knowledgeable. I recommend this tour to everyone!!!

My dad and I had an amazing time at the Samurai Museum in Shinjuku! He’s a huge fan of samurais and their history and we both thoroughly enjoyed the fun and educational experience. Getting to pose with the swords in Samurai uniforms at the end and throw the rubber Shurikens was a fun highlight! Our guide Harumi was friendly and entertaining as well as Yoshi as our throwing star instructor. This is a great establishment, especially for the admission fee and being central in Shinjuku and we highly recommend it for your trip in Tokyo!

A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Loved seeing the samurai costumes and swords and learning a bit about the culture. Great to dress up in the samurai costume at the end with sword and take some photos. You can also dress up in a ninja outfit as well. Also the guide “dice” was really good - friendly and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend this experience to others.

I loved the outside of the building, and the staff at reception were very welcoming. The guided tour was very informative, and getting to practice with shuriken was a treat. I also really appreciated the opportunity to go back through the exhibits afterwards to take more pictures.

Good English-speaking guide included in the price. Great exhibition of samurai warrior clothes, learned a lot about the new Japanese culture and got to try cast star a bit expensive compared to other museums we have been to, but worth the money.

Interesting historical Samurai and Ninja overview plus a fun activity at the end. Replica swords, knives and Ninja stars are extremely detailed and reasonably priced compared to other replica providers. Highly recommended.

Very enjoyable tour and experience. For average $20 per person to take a tour of the museum it’s totally worth it to take in some history and see some samurai museum pieces. Our tour guide Lino was fantastic. Fun throwing star activity at the end.
