  Amazing Samurai (Kendo) Experience! The course was incredibly interesting and educational. The local instructors spoke excellent English, making it easy to follow along. It started with a short introduction to the fascinating history of the samurai, followed by hands-on training. We learned several basic techniques before getting the chance to spar with other participants and even the instructors. In my opinion, this is an absolute must-do experience in Osaka!

  The course was fantastic. We gained fascinating insights into the history of the samurai and kendo and had the chance to try out many combat techniques. In the end, some fights were also part of the program, and participants could compete against each other if they wanted to. All in all, a highly recommended experience and a lasting memory.

  Unbelievably good experience! From the learning about history, the dojo itself to the lesson everything was perfect! It can be physical and it can be relaxed, your choice and the instructor will make the adjustment according to your preference. Toshi and Kumi were so kind and knowledgable, and their english is very good so no problem communicating! Please be respectful and kind to them back.

  If you’re looking for a hands-on cultural experience that’s more than a photo op, this kendo lesson delivers. From the moment we suited up in traditional armor, the instructors set a tone of respect and precision while keeping the session energetic and approachable for beginners. The small class size meant constant, tailored feedback on stance, footwork, and strikes, and we actually drilled enough to feel real progress by the end. Between rounds we got a concise primer on samurai history and dojo etiquette, then practiced striking with the bamboo sword under expert supervision. The facility is spotless, air-conditioned, and has showers and changing rooms, which you’ll appreciate after working up a sweat. We left with professional photos and short videos that captured the action without interrupting it. Net: a well-structured, safety-first class that balances culture, technique, and pure enjoyment. Book it if you want to learn something real, not just swing a stick in a costume. Visited: November 2025 Tips: wear light clothes and socks, arrive 10 minutes early, and bring water.

  Had a really great time learning the history of Kendo and fighting each other was a highlight. Toshi was an excellent coach and made it a blast.

  First time training Kendo and I have to say: it was great!! Master Toshi is the best and he’s very charismatic and kind. I definitely recommend this experience!
