Great zoo some exhibits were lackluster compared to other zoos like the lions, giraffes and elephants. But monkey and birds were plenty.

Nice zoo. Great spot to take kids while visiting. We were early in the year so some animals weren't back yet but we got to see a lot.

Too many empty exhibits. Some of the exhibits looked unkempt and unclean. All looking glasses were dirty inside and out. Water was so dirty we couldn't see the fish through the glass. We miss seeing elephants, tigers, lions, and chimpanzees. We did enjoy the birds and the aquarium.

As someone from out of town, I seem to remember having a good experience previously. We did enjoy the aquarium and gibbons, and the new gorilla exhibit is okay. But as other reviewers mentioned, a number of exhibits were closed this time-- no bears, no big cats, and no elephants. Their website says they are renovating in phases, and I imagine it will be nice when it is done. I would give it a few years before visiting again.

Nice zoo Great ape Congo falls was great. You must pay online and they charge an extra $5.00. They don't take cash or credit cards for admission on site. Stupid!!

Spent $150 on tickets only to have many areas Closed off to public. No one said anything about it at the ticket office when we purchased the tickets there on site. Felt like they could've warned us that many places were closed. I felt cheated outta my money and my family DID not enjoy it all all except for the gorilla. Dont bother going u less u call ahead and ask what areas are closed and if its worth price they charge! Refund should be issued for this waste of time and money and minimal animals available to view.

The Congo exhibit is wonderful however there is so much construction and nobody there could give us any information either of what was going on, but hopefully next year if we come back it’ll be better The train is on the outside of the zoo so you really don’t see anything seems pointless.

We had a great experience at the San Antonio Zoo! The zoo is very clean, well organized, and easy to wall around. It’s a perfect place for families, but also fun for adults. We truly enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend visiting while in San Antonio.

It was ok. A variety of birds and reptiles but not many mammals. The Gorillas were hidden from the public and the place was crowded.
