What To Expect
When we meet at the meeting point, we will do a briefing, we will distribute the necessary material for the activity, then the walk begins until the start of the route, which will count on another security briefing when starting the canyoning, will contain up to 5 different waterfalls that can jump, slide, rapel being the largest with 16 meters that can rapel and then will end in the famous waterfall of the Salto do Cabrito.

5.00We had planned to do coasteering on our last day in the Azores, but unfortunately the conditions weren’t suitable. Rather than simply canceling, the Basaltic team quickly came up with an alternative and put together another canyoning experience for our family. Their flexibility and willingness to make the day work for us was greatly appreciated. Diogo was exceptional with our boys. He kept them laughing the entire day, instantly connecting with them and making them feel comfortable and confident. What impressed us most was how naturally both Rodrigo and Diogo balanced safety with fun. The day never felt overly structured or overly cautious, yet we always felt completely comfortable putting our family in their hands. One of the things that sets Basaltic apart is how well they tailor the experience to the group. They seemed to instinctively know when to push the adventure level a little further and when to keep things relaxed. As a result, both our kids and the adults had an incredible time. The kids are now asking for a return trip to try level 3!

5.00Diogo and Rodrigo were the best guides we could've asked for. The level two canyoning course offered jumps, repels and a zipline through some of the most beautiful areas we've seen. This was easily a top highlight during our stay on São Miguel :)

5.00Rodrigo and Diogo led an excellent tour! We had done a different canyoning tour with another company earlier this week and enjoyed it, but left us wanting more. Rodrigo and Diogo delivered! The tour that Basaltic Azores led was much smaller than the previous tour which meant we spent a lot more time doing canyoning experiences rather than waiting around for others in the tour. We also felt that Rodrigo and Diogo were excellent teachers and helped us understand the major points of repelling. They even brought along local tea that we brewed in the hot spring water that was trickling into the canyon! All in all, it was a great trip and we highly recommend using Basaltic adventures if you’re in Sao Miguel.

5.00Rodrigo and Diego from Basaltic were amazing! Super friendly, informative and made the canyoneering experience incredibly safe and fun. We jumped down waterfalls, ziplined, and repelled. We drank green tea with hot spring water. The hike is beautiful! This was our first time in Sao Miguel and they left a lasting experience! We highly recommend them!

5.00We had 2 fantastic local guides with a lot of experience. We felt very save with them. The gear we got was of a very good quality. We did different things, like jumps, ziplines and rappeling. Nice trail and they have a nice surprise for you in the middle of the trail. You will find out what if you book with them. 😁👍
