We’ll start at a bar that’s been a local favorite since the 1970s. Here you’ll try a selection of the best mussels in town with dry Basque cider. Master pouring cider from a height straight into your glass and learn all about the cultural phenomenon of “TXOTX!” This traditional stop will be your first introduction into what going out for pintxos really means in San Sebastian.
Next, you’ll dive into the fascinating world of Spain’s most famous delicacy: cured Iberian ham. We’ll introduce you to a family-run gem stocked with Basque and Spanish gourmet products. Try two of the most-renowned (and most expensive) cured hams especially chosen by our friend Sylvain. By the time we leave, you’ll have an understanding of the differences between them—and a favorite!

We had a great time with our guide Sandra who took us to all of the hot tapas spots throughout San Sebastián. We had a great assortment of tapas/pinxtos and met some nice folks along the way on our tour. We’ve done many food tours around the world and this one ranks amongst the best we’ve done Thank you Mike

We had a fantastic time with Sandra. She was very friendly, professional, and forthright. She provided us ample background and information on the Basque Country, etc., and ensured all individuals within the party felt welcomed. We ventured to a number of different eateries, trying a variety of food and beverages, finishing off with a nice, velvety cheesecake. The only challenge we encountered was ensuring we found the meeting point. Recommend including a note to look for the Dual Memorial for Victims of the Franco Regime behind the San Sebastian City Hall/Library, next to the yacht club.

Interesting tour. Well informed guide. Went to six places, but there are hundreds of other places that would take months to experience

Gorka (George) was so knowledgeable about the city! We had so much fun as we went from stop to stop and learned so much about the Basque Country. He also gave us recommendations for the rest of our trip.

I am so glad I signed up for this! It was not just about food and wine, but an overall Basque experience with history, meeting fellow travelers, and so much more than I could have imagined! Gorka was amazing!

Our British guide Lilly was fun and knowledgeable, navigating the crowded tight pixtxos stops for us with dexterity. Had a nice sampling of classics. Highly recommend.

Like all food & wine tours around the world, this one just got better and better the longer it went on. Cynics would say 'well, that would be the wine, wouldn't it?' and for once I'm tending to side with the cynics. But there were other reasons, too. The cider! No, I meant the venues, the pintxos, the people in our small group, and most of all the bottomless knowledge of our guide, a lady whose name I have unforgivably forgotten.

I love a good good tour and this one was great! Gorka was a knowledgeable passionate and fun guide. A great mix of history, culture and cracking food. I’d highly recommend this as great night out that will also help you plan the rest of your stay and give you plenty of ideas of where to go and what to eat on your stay in San Sebastián

We had an excellent time on the tour. It was a small friendly group and we got to try lots of different Pinxtos and some great wine and cider pairings too. I’d thoroughly recommend as an introduction to Pinxtos and the Old Town of San Sebastián.
