Our experience allows you not only to admire art, but to be able to create it with your own hands. You will learn the history and secrets of a majestic work together with the expert guidance of the sculptor Octavio Palomino.

NOTE: all our lessons are private, once booked you will be contacted by our office to arrange times based on your needs and the availability of the atelier. Generally 10-13 are available; 2-5pm and 5.30-8.30pm our staff will try to help you!

What To Expect

Part of the day dedicated to the Renaissance Florentine sculpture par excellence: Michelangelo's David. In the artistic studio of Octavio Palomino, a sculpture workshop will be held using the lost form technique in plaster, obtaining a copy of an anatomical detail of Michelangelo's David. You can sculpt your own plaster sculpture with a mallet and chisel. The sculpture can be packaged and taken away directly by our guests, remaining forever a tangible memory of your Florentine stay!

I had such a great time learning the basic steps of how to sculpt like michelangelo with Octavio and Rosanna they were both very nice and supportive and enjoyed my day with my gf at Geko Art Studio

We actually did a day trip from Rome to Florence for this class. My 14-year-old son had an amazing time. He can sometimes be reluctant about the arts, but loves working with his hands so this was perfect. Incredibly friendly staff. Very welcoming. Great teacher. We would definitely do this again!

This was such a great experience!! I felt like Michelangelo working in the studio LOL. They were so nice and very helpful when I was taking the bus over (which by the way was so easy and drops you right in front of the studio!). I had a great time; thank you!

We stayed with them 6 years ago and finally returned to Florence and booked a workshop with them again, this time with a Michelangelo theme. My 18- and 21-year-olds had a great time and learned so much about sculpture. Octavio and the Geko are always a guarantee for every time we return to Florence. Special mention also to Rosanna's impeccable organization with schedules, taxis etc. Thank you very much

We had such a wonderful afternoon sculpting class at Geko Studio. They were able to fit us in on short notice and work around our schedule. The class itself was well instructed and made us beginners feel comfortable! It gave us a completely new appreciation for the art we spent hours admiring the days before!! Can’t recommend them enough! We will definitely come back for more classes when visiting Firenze in the future!

Very friendly and special time together where we able to be working on the same task together (mother, father and daughter). We had even tasty home-made food and cake and were able to bring home a souvenir reminding us of the great master Michelangelo. Thank you!

Wow! What an incredible experience! It was difficult at first but Octavio was such a great teacher and guided me each step of the way. I’ve always admired sculpting and have been awestruck by the statue of David, but it was only after doing this class that I gained a whole new understanding and appreciation of the work, artistry and patience it takes to produce such masterpieces. Will definitely be back to take another class!
