Michaelmas Cay
Located 22 nautical miles (40 km) from Cairns, the same as the distance across the English Channel, and close to the outer reef systems, Michaelmas Cay is the largest of the uninhabited coral cays in the Cairns region; in fact it is huge in comparison. Seastar is the first vessel to arrive at Michaelmas Cay. Very few tour vessels are now permitted access to this sensitive island and now there are only two which travel daily that are permitted the right to use and access the Cay.
Outer Great Barrier Reef Snorkel Tour includes luxury catamaran cruise all equipment and two guided snorkel tours

The crew including the captain were amazing. The amenities were clean and accessible. The lunch and tea were lovely and in more than sufficient quantity. Many people of our group couldn’t swim but the crew helped us snorkel with life jackets and were very patient and super helpful. We all had an amazing experience seeing the Great Barrier Reef. The captain kept us updated about the weather conditions and due to choppy seas, some people got sick. The crew were again very attentive and helpful.

Fabulous small boat Outer Great Barrier Reef experience. Friendly crew (high % v pax) who were all over the H&S (but made is simple and easy) and ready to help people at the drop of a hat. Need help getting your flippers on or off? No problem! Super snorkelling experience, fab food, really good communications and instructions pre and during the event. I learned loads about the reef - coloured coral is sick coral. I travelled solo but met lovely people. Totally recommended.

Good sized boat - busy but not overcrowded. Food was simple but perfect for a day out on the reef. Crew were excellent. Very professional and well organised. Equipment was good quality and relatively new. We stopped at two snorkeling sites, both of which were very good with plenty of reef fish and a couple of turtles. My family had a brilliant time. One to remember.

Beware that ocean conditions can change suddenly but other than that it was an awesome day. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, the reefs were unbelievable and the food was fantastic
