Explore beyond the coast on a self-guided e-bike ride through the Tweed hinterland, combining rainforest, quiet country roads and sections of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail.
Starting from our Mooball location, opposite the southern end of the Rail Trail, this ride offers access to a unique mix of landscapes, including ancient rainforest, hinterland scenery and the opportunity to visit Unicorn Falls (and have a swim) in Mount Jerusalem National Park.
Ride at your own pace using our suggested route and navigation support, with the flexibility to stop, explore, swim and take in the surroundings along the way. The route includes a mix of trail riding and quiet rural roads, with tunnels, bridges and varied terrain.
Our premium e-bikes make the ride accessible for riders with moderate fitness, helping you climb hills comfortably and enjoy a longer ride without strain.
This is a self-guided experience, so you ride independently in your own group and set your own pace throughout the day.

Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
The total duration is 5-6 hours but not all of that is cycling, the actual cycling time is around 3-3.5 hours.
Riders should be comfortable riding on gravel roads with uphill and downhill sections
Participants must weigh under 120kgs, be over 150cm in height and at least 14 years old

What To Expect
Mooball
The E Bike Hire starts at our location in Mooball, opposite the South end of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. Grab a great coffee or have breakfast before you go at the Moo Moo Roadhouse, we are located next door. Plenty of onsite parking.
Stokers Siding
From Mooball you can ride the best bits of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail to Stokers Siding, including the 524m long Burringbar Range Tunnel, historic Mills Creek bridge and the hinterland town of Burringbar.

5.00My friends and I chose the self guided tour. What a highlight this was on our trip to Byron. A beautiful way to experience the country sides of Byron. The team at Beyond Byron E bike Tours set us up to ensure we were well equipped and supported to enjoy a day of riding. Would highly recommend doing this as one of the many ways you can enjoy Byron. So worth it.

5.00We did both e-bike tours with Beyond Byron Tours and we were impressed by the quality of the e-bikes. Lots of battery and assist if you need it to get up the hills and the rainforest scenery was amazing. You won’t regret it! It was raining so we didn’t stop at the falls but on a hot day, it would have been superb to take a dip. High recommend! Easy to follow tour on our phone so self guided tour is a snap.

5.00Brilliant day out with top quality e-bikes. The bike trail is easy to ride on with concrete and even well formed gravel sections We rode through tunnels, over bridges and across pretty little rivers with swimming spots. So many places to stop along the trail; cafes, a farm for animal feeding, cheese factory, pottery, fresh fruit and veggie stands, antique shop and even an art gallery. We took full advantage of the five hour hire to make lots of stops.
Head for the hills!

5.00A scenic wonderland! We had the best time on our self guided ride to Unicorn Falls and beyond. The bikes were perfect and powered us over some steep climbs but felt safe and comfortable to make our 57k ride enjoyable. Steve and Olivier gave us a great intro to the bikes and the trails and gave us some pointers. The falls were beautiful and we stopped at a great cafe for a coffee and pastry. The grand finale was ending for a pint at the Bilinudgel Hotel. I highly recommend this ride which is nice that it isn’t crowded and goes off the rail trail for a bit more of an active ride which was filled with open meadows, lush rainforests, and rolling streams.

5.00It was a wonderful experience, highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area! The setup is streamlined and very simple, all you need to do is turn up and Steve has your adventure ready. The bikes were in excellent condition and the navigation was very easy. Don't miss out on this tour, the bikes made going through the national park hills an absolute breeze. Doing it in your own time is also a plus and the amount of time scheduled for our bike ride was perfect.
Great to see a bit more of the great Byron Bay

5.00Wow! Words cannot describe how awesome this E bike tour was. Steve was ready with the bikes., very informative, and really good at getting us up to speed with using E bikes. The bikes, themselves were excellent German made Bosch E bikes. They performed magnificently on the hills and on the flat, making a 58 km trip up steep inclines and on rough, at times gravely roads, smooth safe and easy.. The electric assist engines made long hill, climbs comfortable at 20 km an hour- who knew it would be so easy and fun. The route itself is incredible we passed through green fields and farms , along paved roads, then on the gravel roads up through the hills in the mountains to Jerusalem National, Park, and down the other side to Uki and then on to Stoker siding, where we joined the rail trail. If you were looking for a great E bike experience to get you out into nature, I can’t recommend Steve and his business highly enough.

5.00Great experience and service! We rode to Unicorn Falls which was a challenging ride. After, back down to the bike trail and stop off at many cute little towns-be sure and visit the bbq and farm at Hosanna Farms too!!
