Experience the magic of GPS playback on this immersive stroll through Ísafjörður. On this self-guided audio tour, separate fact from fiction in this town shaped by its seafaring past. Ísafjörður, meaning ‘the fjord of ice,’ has a rich fishing history that continues to shape the region. Discover outdoor artworks like the bronze Seaman’s Monument and the 3D Crosswalk, and explore garages where local artists exhibit. Visit historical sites such as the old hospital, Sjúkrahúsið, and learn about the annual downtown skiing competition. In Jónsgarður Park, capture a photo with the famous Whalebone Arch. This tour showcases how the sea has influenced livelihoods and living standards in Iceland’s Westfjords region.

I loved the little personal stories of our guide. He was informative and entertaining. We even walked by his house at one point in the tour. This was the first time we experienced a self guided tour and we are now hooked. The perfect way to experience a new place.
