Our secluded beach is the ultimate place to learn to surf with the best company in Costa Rica. No worries about 100s of other surfers around you and Playa Grande is a beautiful beach as well. The waves are awesome for beginners to intermediate surfers and we only surf around the high tide to give you the best possible waves. We take special care in every customer to make sure they have the best day of their vacation and take 150-250 pictures and video to prove it.

What To Expect
This is a semi private surf lesson for 2-3 people-Please note price is for 2 people-if a 3rd joins we collect $50 at the beach. It is especially ideal if you have young children or if you want some personal attention. You will have your own private instructor for your over 2 hour lessons (unlike the other schools which are only 90 minutes), which begins with a 10 minute land lesson before going out for 45 minutes to an hour. After a 10 minute break where we provide you with fresh pineapple and ice water,we head back out for the last hour of the lesson. You will be catching your own waves in no time as our instructors are the best in Costa Rica and they make sure you have fun. We take children as young as 4-our instructors are amazing with children and we have had beginners as young as 75 out. At our secluded beach, we are the only ones there and you avoid the crowded, rocky areas of Tamarindo (we are right across from Tamarindo). Our beach is a sand walk out with no rock - perfect for beginners and children with great waves as well! We also take 150-250 professional pictures of your lesson and video as well (extra). The only surf company in Costa Rica to offer that.

5.00I first took a surf lesson with the company back in 2015, so when I recently returned to Costa Rica, I knew I wanted to book with them again. One of the things I love most is that the beach never feels overcrowded, which makes the experience so much more enjoyable and comfortable, especially for beginners. Tim and Johel were both amazing. They were attentive, encouraging, and made the lesson fun from start to finish. My friend had never surfed before, and by the end she was catching some really great waves. Johel was patient and gave constructive tips in a way that built confidence without making you feel intimidated. By the end of the lesson, we felt like pros. And the little touches matter too — the fresh pineapple, homemade banana bread, and cold water afterward were such a nice bonus. Highly recommend Mojo Surf Adventures if you’re in Costa Rica and looking for a fun, supportive surf experience.

5.00Mojo Surf Lessons are the best! My teenage daughter is a repeat customer. Tim and MJ are gracious hosts offering cold water, fresh pineapple and homemade banana bread. I live here locally and you cannot beat this experience! Joel and all of the instructors are so kind and patient. We are are big fans of Mojo surf!

5.00My family and I had an amazing experience surfing together. Tim and his instructors were patient and able to adjust to our various surf capabilities. Equipped with snacks and water, they were also very accomdating given our early AM start. The beach we surfed, Playa Grande, had perfect conditions especially for my young kids. Highly recommended!

5.00Tim and johel are amazing!! This is our second time getting surf lessons from them and we cannnot recommend them enough. They got everyone in our family up surfing with age range from 10-49. They are so calm and gentle and were great with all ages!! Love the new location. Parking was so much better then when we went three years ago. Highly recommend!

5.00We had the absolute best time! First time surfers and Johel was an amazing instructor. He was so friendly and patient, chatting with us between waves and giving expert tips and adjustments after each ride. There were 7 surfers in the group and 3 instructors, so my husband and I basically had him all to ourselves for the 2 hours. Also, pineapple and banana bread break was *chefs kiss*. If you’re thinking of taking a lesson while you’re here in Guanacaste, book this one right now.
So much fun and great people! Would highly recommend!

5.00The hosts were amazing! Friendly, welcoming, energetic and encouraging! They provided the BEST snacks mid way thru our surf lessons. Our actual surf instructor”Dogo” was the BEST!!! He climbed up the tree twice and provided up with fresh coconut water!
