Seven Star Crags (Qixing Yan)
Take a 1.5 hours driving by private car with air-con from Guangzhou to explore the beautiful Seven Star Crags scenery, here are the recommended activities available and optional for travellers based on your interest: 1) Have a stroll along the soothing jungle path and bridges surrounded by beautiful landscape of primeval forest hills; 2) Boat ride on the lake to visit several islands at the Star-lake national wetland reserve and observe various wild birds; 3) Climb one of the seven pretty hills with fine walkway and enjoy an overlook view of the landscape from the peak; 4) Explore the exquisite cave with colorful lights illuminated on diverse rocks and stalactite; 5) Take a fun bicycle ride along the boardwalk surrounding the large lake for best photo taking spot; 6) Have a bite at the local specialty-sticky rice with pork, bean and salted egg yolk wrapped by bamboo leaf; 7) View the numerous gorgeous poem inscriptions on rocks composed by ancient Chinese poets about 1000 years ago.
Zhaoqing is a third tier city around 1.5 hours driving west to Guangzhou, with cleaner air and water and less traffic, much scenic city than Guangzhou

5.00We had Damon as our tour guide and he was amazing! He was so helpful and engaged and taught us a lot about much about the areas. We learned a ton about the culture and he had an answer for every single question we asked. He went above and beyond for our big group of 25 people and even went so far as to have the restaurant where we had lunch at prepare a menu in English. The nature park was beautiful and here we went on a cave tour and river cruise which was really nice. Strongly recommend this tour and Damon as tour guide:))

5.00We had the absolute pleasure of having Damon as our guide for the Seven Star Crags Karst Cave Mirror Lake Bird Islands Private Tour from Guangzhou, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From the very beginning, Damon went above and beyond. He arrived early at our hotel to greet our group of 26 (even though the usual maximum is 12), instantly putting everyone at ease. Throughout the day, he shared so many interesting insights about Guangzhou and Zhaoqing, bringing the history and culture to life in a way that kept our large group very engaged. Damon was impressively prepared and incredibly thoughtful. He brought water for us, purchased all the park admission tickets in advance (even though this wasn’t his responsibility), and ensured everything ran smoothly. At lunchtime, he even arranged for the restaurant to prepare an English menu for us and personally helped us communicate our orders. These small but important details made a huge difference in our experience. What stood out most was Damon’s flexibility, patience, and genuine care for our group. Managing 26 people is no small task, yet he handled it effortlessly and with a smile the entire time. If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate. Damon truly made the day enjoyable for everyone. Our trip to Guangzhou would not have been the same without him!:))

5.00Damon was an outstanding guide from start to finish. He was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the Seven Star Crags, the karst caves, and the surrounding nature. His explanations were clear and interesting, and he always made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience. The scenery at Mirror Lake and Bird Islands was absolutely beautiful, and Damon’s passion for his work made the tour even more special. I highly recommend this tour — and especially Damon as your guide!

We took two boats, one in the cave and one on the lake (the latter one especially recommended) The guide was very kind, answered all questions and gave really good recommendations afterwards, based on our own desires. He also spoke great English!
