This tour was so fun! I was excited to hear the ghost stories, as I feel they help make a neighborhood more memorable and stimulates my imagination. These stories did not disappoint, especially hearing about Shanghaiing practices in dark alleys. The Italian food on the tour was quite good and I’d definitely go back to try some more!

This free tour offered by San Francisco City Guides took me around a 2-squared- block area of North Beach. I learned about the Italian community and how it is reflected in its churches, eateries, and watering holes. Guide Audrey focused on some of the more popular businesses and on the history of the main locales. It's a good tour for visitors new to the area but I think local residents would enjoy it as well. Audrey kept the tour interesting and personalized it with a bit of her family history that livened the narrative.

This was a great tour. All of the food was amazing and I’d go back to any of the restaurants again to eat on my own. Marcy was very knowledgeable about the local history and different ghost stories. It was a great evening.

Our tour guide Marcy was amazing! I live in SF and I learned so much about the city because of her. Her story telling skills were top notch and she knows how to throw a party. I would definitely recommend this company for your group or private group tour needs.

My wife and I were hosting a friend from London who was unfamiliar with San Francisco and curious about American Halloween, so we thought that treating her to a Gourmet Ghost Tour would be a perfect fit. And it was! All three of us had a marvelous time, one of the most delicious and memorable evenings I've ever had in San Francisco. Our tour guide, Dale, did a terrific job of acquainting us with North Beach's colorful, surprising, and occasionally spooky history across a leisurely walking tour that showcased the neighborhood's many interesting nooks and crannies. This tour is unmissable for anyone who likes Italian food, especially the hidden gems and old-time establishments that might be easily missed on a more conventional itinerary. Everything about the program was perfectly executed to a tee. Definitely highly recommended!

Hauntingly wonderful! I've lived in SF more than 50 years and was surprised how much history I still didn't know. Our guide, Robert, was entertaining as well as deeply versed on the well-documented "facts" and also on the compellingly similar "hearsay" about the ghosts that have visited their haunts over the ages. Fascinating! We were well fed along the way, from the 1906 Hotel San Remo's luscious shrimp and calamari to Mario's delicious eggplant panini, Mona Lisa's crusty Margherita pizza to Cavalli's melt away tiramisu. Hold those ghosts!

What fun! I took the North Beach tour, and as a Bay Area resident who admittedly doesn't spend tons of time walking around San Francisco, this was a great way to get acquainted with an area that has lots of great history, and lots of great food! The tour was informative, our guide was really pleasant, and I'd recommend this as a way for folks to experience the city up close!
