I had seen a show by Sichuan's Zatsugidan in Beijing about 20 years ago, and at that time it was a so-called circus image, but I found that the staging that followed was much more advanced, with more effective use of lights and the like. It was basically a story where the elder brother goes looking for the older sister with a red umbrella, and various attractions along the way, but it was a pity that I didn't understand the flow of things. Do Chinese people understand that? It was like an advance performance of a show to be released next year. I think there were about seven bike shows at most riding in spherical iron baskets. Sounds curmudgeonly. It was very wonderful, but some of the old circus stuff was amazing.

Best show we saw while in China , the acrobats were simply brilliant in their performance and kept everyone edge. The finale with motorcycles in round cage blew your mind , starting with 2 motorcycles going in and ending with 8 motorcycles spinning around in various directions for long time never ever seen anything like it . Everyone in the audience were grasping with excitement and fear. If you are in Shanghai, go see it you won’t be disappointed and you will get your moneys worth.

Having already seen the acrobatic performance in Beijing, we were unsure whether to go again in Shanghai. Thery are separate companies, but could there be much that was new in the second performance.?The answer - a resouinding "Yes". The specially built Shanghai theatre is a marvel in itself - with a series of surprises as the true range of what its circular stage can do is revealei ERA, which has strong creative connections to the Cirque de Soleil team, is a magnificently choreographed production which merges traditional Chinese acrobatics into a storyline with an ending. Along the way, multiple motorbikes roar inside a steel globe (I won't say how many, but the audience gasped audibly as each additional one arrived); tumblers through hoops and trapeze artists push the boundaries to the extreme, and music light and sound transform the visual impact in many ways.. A must to visit in Shanghai (and if you are in Beijing, that is a separate "must do" also).

We decided to only experience the one hour show and it was more than enough to entertain us. The motorcycle dome had me on the edge of my seat.
