We spent a wonderful afternoon exploring the historical neighborhood of Shanghai with Charlotte. She came very well prepared with photos and maps and helped us to understand the history of this vast metropolis. We wanted a slow, unhurried, curated experience with someone who loves the city and takes time to explain the rich history and cultural background, and this is exactly what we got with Charlotte. We meandered our way slowly along the Suzhou Canal through the Bund, learning interesting anecdotes and stories. In a city with multiple cookie cutter tourist traps, this tour provides a rich and engaging experience. If you are looking for a quick, box-checking tourist experience this isn't for you. However, if you want to experience and learn about the city with a local at a leisurely pace, I'm sure you will enjoy wandering through Shanghai with Charlotte.

From Suzhou Creek to the Bund, the walk was busier than on a typical weekday but still wonderfully relaxed, filled with fascinating stories. Along the way, Charlotte introduced us to countless Shanghai delicacies: xiaolongbao, crab noodles, pork ribs with rice cake… I only wish I could’ve eaten more! 😄 What a perfect day! I think I’ll need another full day just to explore more of Shanghai’s incredible food scene. The best part? You can tell Charlotte your preferences, and she’ll craft a perfectly tailored food adventure just for you!

  • A must for architecture enthusiasts!

Charlotte is such a lovely girl! As an interior designer, I was particularly fascinated by the architecture of the Bund, and she knew so much about these buildings—the historical stories behind them were truly moving. The beauty of the Bund isn’t just along the riverside; it’s also in the charming old buildings preserved in the side alleys, complete with stunning 1930s Art Deco interiors. I was amazed to discover such Art Deco designs in Shanghai, proving that the city’s beauty isn’t just Oriental—it’s a unique fusion of East and West, something distinctly Shanghainese. Thank you, Charlotte, for such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend her!

She knows Shanghai very well and shared many fascinating historical stories behind the city's beautiful architecture. We wandered through streets and alleys, enjoying the comfortable seasonal weather, and even sampled some delicious local snacks. It was such a delightful experience—I highly recommend Charlotte if you want to discover the most authentic side of Shanghai!
