Taste Shanghai contains two meanings: first one is to taste the delicious Shanghai cuisine, and the second one is to overlook the entire city view of Shanghai. This 5-hour private tour is customized just for your party, which you can eat and see in this amazing city in your limited time. You will visit Shanghai Tower (the tallest building in China), Yuyuan bazaar and take the Huangpu River cruise. Besides sightseeing, you will enjoy a tasty lunch or dinner(depends on you choosing on the morning 10am or afternoon 2pm departure time) in Shanghai style.

What To Expect
Yu Garden
Your local guide will pick up you from your hotel lobby at your desired time in the morning. Then you will follow BBC Rick Stein’s footsteps to taste Shanghai. First, you will go to the Yuyuan bazaar, which is the old Ming and Qing dynasty architecture market, with various of souvenir shops and restaurants where you can enjoy your time there shopping and taking photos. You will have chance to taste some of the famous snack in the markets if you are interests, such as the spring roll, Big soup dumplings. Famous Yu Garden is just right next to the bazaar, if you want to have a visit, please let your guide know (Yuyuan garden close on Monday).
Pudong New Area
After your morning tour, your guide will take you to a nice local restaurant where you can enjoy some well-known local food, such as Xiao Long Bao (soup dumpling) and Chairman Mao's favorite dish Hong Shao Rou (Braised pork in brown sauce). Xiao Long Bao is a characteristic of Shanghai cuisine, with over hundred years of history. Pork minced “Xiao Longs” are the most classical ones and once it comes to right season, you can also try the crab-meat one.

5.00Alana organised an exceptional tour of Shanghai for me, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience on my very first visit to China. From start to finish, everything was seamless. Her English was excellent, and she was incredibly focused on making the trip enjoyable and tailored to my interests. The itinerary—including the tower visit, night river cruise, and market tour—was perfectly planned and executed. Judy, the tour guide, truly made the experience unforgettable. She was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and very attentive throughout. It felt like the entire tour was carefully shaped around my needs, which made it all the more special. The driver also deserves recognition—professional, attentive, and deserving of 5 stars. Overall, the warmth, kindness, and welcome I received in Shanghai made a lasting impression. 5.00Kalvin was an excellent guide. He is a walking encyclopedia of information for everything Shanghai, and could answer every one of our questions with confidence. He was so kind to my family (he even took my youngest to the restroom during lunch!), and we felt very taken care of in his hands. Thanks to Alana and Xin ( our tour guide ) the stay in Shanghai was just perfect! Xin is a lovely guide who speaks a very very good English and she is such a lovely and welcoming person! She made all the efforts in order for us to feel happy and she succeeded! We had a private driver who was very punctual and professional! 5.00We were very lucky and privileged to take this tour on Chinese New Year. Jane looked after us superbly, adjusting the itinerary to help us get a real taste of Shanghai amongst the mayhem and a bit of rain. We were picked up at our hotel and driven to bustling old town Shanghai and Jane led us through the crowd covering a lot of ground. We made the call to avoid the lines at Shanghai Tower which disappeared into the mist anyway and we went to the Jade Buddha temple instead. Jane gave us a very in depth explanation of every aspect. We were driven to the French Concession and enjoyed a picturesque walk through before we were driven to an amazing Shanghai dinner!! Finally we were dropped off at the ferry terminal which we would never get through without Janes help… the river cruise was spectacular and the VIP tickets with oolong tea and snacks made the experience even more special. We bid Jane farewell and rode back to our hotel in our luxury vehicle. What a way to introduce ourselves to the vibrancy of beautiful Shanghai!!!

5.00I really loved how knowledgeable my guide, Xin, was. She was incredibly friendly and intelligent. We went to the Yu gardens ,and to Chinatown, and to a beautiful observation deck and dinner a walk along the balloon and finally a wonderful trip on the river. If you are thinking of taking this trip, I suggest you do. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I only speak a little Chinese and having somebody that was fluent and knew the city made me feel so confident. Did I mention you should do this? :)
