Begin the day with a visit to Wat Sisaket, Vientiane’s oldest surviving temple from the 1828 Siamese war. It houses more than 8,000 Buddha statues, including the famous Emerald Buddha. Pha That Luang (Great Sacred Stupa): Visit Laos' national symbol, Pha That Luang, the largest stupa in the country. It is believed to contain a relic of the Buddha’s chest bone and is a major pilgrimage site for Buddhists.
