What To Expect
Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial
Mount Soledad is known as one of the most prominent landmarks in San Diego. Atop this 822-foot hill sits the Mount Soledad cross and veterans monument. Known primarily for its veteran’s memorial, it offers 360 degree panoramic views of San Diego and the Pacific Ocean. It offers one of the best views in San Diego County. On a clear day you can see from Scripps pier to downtown San Diego. Look a little harder and you’ll see the bridge to Coronado Island and beyond that, the mountains of Mexico. It’s a great place to watch the sunrise or sunset as well as the perfect place to be enthralled by San Diego’s city lights at night.
La Jolla Cove
La Jolla Cove is a small, picturesque cove and beach that is surrounded by cliffs in La Jolla, San Diego, California. The Cove is protected as part of a marine reserve; underwater it is very rich in marine life, and is popular with snorkelers, swimmers and scuba divers. You won't get any closer to seals and sea lions than this!

5.00The guided tour of San Diego was simply excellent! Whether it was Balboa Park, the Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial, the Embarcadero or Little Italy, or La Jolla (whew), we were right on top of it with ample time to walk around and get a feel for things. But what I really can't believe is how much I learned! While Joseph was right there each time with his facts, I particularly enjoyed the stories he wove about the history as well as the personalities of old San Diego. As basically a native of San Diego, he had a lot of personal insights that kept things lively!
Beautiful, fun, and history of San Diego.

5.00Learning about San Diego was the best part of this trip. Joseph was a delight. He took us and taught us about many destinations and locations in San Diego. After this trip, we want to go back to San Diego and revisit many of the places again.

5.00Joseph with Best Coast Tours was our guide and driver for a day tour of San Diego, and he provided a great experience. After booking with TripAdvisor, I emailed Best Coast Tours about the pickup location. Joseph called me within an hour. His communication was very good, and he selected a pickup point very convenient to our Orange County accomodations. On the tour Joseph was well informed, had a good sense of humor, and was a careful driver. The van was clean and comfortable, and the provided water and snacks were appreciated. Highly recommend.

5.00We were picked up at Riviera Beach Resort (Capistrano Beach) as scheduled on a Wednesday morning. The tour van with 12 seats had big windows and was very clean. The ride was relaxing and comfortable on a warm summer day. The driver guide gave us historical information about the areas as he drove. Best Coast Tours took us to places we have not seen or thought of visiting in the San Diego area. We explored on our own with adequate time to get an introductory experience at each site and later a stop quick bite for lunch on our own. The driver provided bottled water and snacks. This tour was the best way to visit San Diego without having to deal with driving ourselves through traffic.

5.00Staying in Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas, Best Coast Tours was clearly the best way to get to and see a taste of San Diego. Our guide Joseph was informative interesting and entertaining throughout the trip. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
