What To Expect
Onomichi
The day will start in the beautiful Onomichi, where you meet your guide at JR Onomichi station, have introductions and a debrief on your day ahead. Then you will collect your bikes and board the ferry to sail out into the inland sea.
On Innoshima, you will start a relaxing ride to just enjoy and “breath-in” island life as you cycle past farms, flower fields and rural towns, before crossing the stunning Ikuchi bridge onto Ikuchijima.

Bike & helmet rental (Cross Bikes, City Bikes, Battery Assisted Bikes & Battery Assisted Bikes with a child seat. An E-Bike [More powerful and longer range] is an extra cost.)

Ferry from Onomichi to Innoshima, from Setoda to Onomichi
Lunch, other snacks and drinks are not included. You will have free time to choose your own lunch

5.00Excellent guide Damien. Very experienced biker that knows our level of biking skills. Very professional, knowledgeable and sociable. We had a good time at rest stops to chat with Damien and share some personal family background. It sure made us part of his life as well as giving him a little insight into our family. But besides the social aspect, his knowledge and skills in all areas of our biking experience made for a safe and enjoyable trip. If any of our friends and family ever decide to do the Shimanami Kaido bicycle route, we will enthusiastically recommend Damien. We had a great time and great experience that we had been looking forward to. We’ll be reminiscing about our bicycle tour through the pictures that Damien took of us and sent us later. Thank you Damien for the once in a lifetime bicycle tour!!
