We begin the day with our city loop tour where we will provide guided commentary of Hobart's major attractions and landmarks. Our first destination is the awe-inspiring kunanyi, also known as Mt. Wellington. Ascend to the pinnacle at 1272m and be mesmerized by the breathtaking panoramic view of Hobart and its surroundings.
Next, we'll venture to the renowned Salamanca Market, available on Saturdays only.
After exploring the market, we will continue our journey through the scenic Coal River Valley wine region. Along the way, we will quickly stop at the acclaimed Wicked Cheese. Then, we will proceed to the historic township of Richmond, which is rich in convict history. Richmond is home to numerous charming eateries, making it the perfect spot for our lunch break.
To conclude our adventure-filled day, we'll visit the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Get up close and personal with the kangaroos and other native wildlife. Don't miss the chance to witness the famous Tasmanian Devil.

It was a great ship excursion. It was easy to find the tour just outside of the terminal building. The twenty person van was comfortable and was driven by Mark, our capable and entertaining guide. Mark elected to take us first to Bonorong the animal park in order to beat the cruise ship tour buses. We enjoyed walking the grounds and observing the various indigenous animals and petted the free roaming kangaroos for about an hour. We left driving through the scenic countryside to Richmond, an old English style village. We had an hour in Richmond which was not enough time to have a proper lunch but was enough to have a snack. There wasn’t much of interest in Richmond to see or shop. Leaving Richmond we drove to a park for pictures from an overlook of Hobart and the port where our ship was docked. Our drive to the final stop, Mt Wellington took us back through Hobart and up the winding road to the summit. The scenery was beautiful and Mark’s commentary was funny/informative. At the summit we had sufficient time to enjoy the 360 degree spectacular view of the surrounding countryside. If you do this tour take something warm for Mt Wellington is windy and significantly cooler than Hobart. Overall the tour was great and Mark’s commentary was an excellent tour guide.

The tour stops were very good. The guide could have been more informative. Chatted about sports most of the time. Also there really wasn’t time for lunch as the restaurants needed about 40 min to prepare food.

A great way to see Hobart with only one day to do it. The driver was very friendly, and a fountain of knowledge about Tasmania.
