Start this experience by boarding the shuttle that will pick up you at your hotel or place of lodging, the drive time is 1 hour and 30 minutes to the San Vicente villages where your guide will meet you. Enjoy wonderful views during the ascent and the interesting information that your guide will share with you. The Pacaya Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the country, we will walk on the stones created by volcanic lava so we suggest wearing climbing shoes and the best thing is that it is not a high difficulty hike and depending on the pace of your walk the approximate ascent time is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I decided to use a private transfer to Pacaya with my girlfriend. Make yourself a favor and avoid traveling with a group. You don’t have enough time to enjoy the view or a volcano pizza. We did everything at our own pace. Our guide was great. He gave us some information, but not too much. Just the right presence, not all the time around us.

Do NOT use this company, they will rip you off. Booked the tour and received confirmation email. Paid in advance. Received confirmation WhatsApp from tour guide. Arrived to pick up spot at 6:30 am. Tour guide No Showed. No response from company yet. Will dispute charges with credit card company. Save yourself the hassle and book with another company.

We had an amazing time climbing Pacaya. Our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgable, sharing a lot of information about the volcano and the flora & fauna living on its slopes. When we climbed to the top, we were transformed to the most gorgeous, misty, moon-like landscape that blew us away. I would definitely take this tour again and would recommend it to my friends.

This was such a fun experience. It went so smoothly - our driver was extremely punctual and waited for us while we hiked. Our guide was so kind and knowledgeable about the volcano and surrounding areas. He gave us a lot of options in terms of the pace and length of our hike and continually checked in with us to make sure we were getting the best experience possible. Definitely a manageable hike and lots of options to help make it easier if needed.

It was a great experience and our guide was great! Very nice and has good English! Our pizza was amazing! A bit windy as we went early in the morning but had a great time!!! Highly recommend, the view is amazing!

Great experience with this tour provider. Pickup was prompt and easy, drive was smooth, and the actual hike was excellent. We had a local guide who spoke limited English but was very enthusiastic about teaching us of the volcano's recent history as well as taking photos of us. Would recommend!

Our guide really set the tone for our group ensuring us that the experience is truly ours. Our group of 9 had different fitness levels and we all got to enjoy the hike either by horse or foot. This was an amazing experience. The driver and guide were so accommodating and flexible. 10/10

We did the “Volcano guided hike”. Erwin was our guide and excellent! He was very knowledgeable and informative. It was challenging hike, but very enjoyable. This was a good day and memorable. How often do you hike an active volcano? Fun!

We chose Erwin to do our Pacaya Volcano tour and have him transfer us from Antigua to Lake Atitlan. We love Erwin, he's professional, knowledgable and so easy to relate to. He always puts his customers first, always willing to go above and beyond to offer the best experience. He's a wealth of knowledge and has a passion for what he does. On our drive to the ake, he shared so much knowledge about the Mayan culture, I felt I received a crush course on local history, so amazing.
